Aight. Bioshock is starting to pick up now. I'm actually diggin it a lil bit. Still not liking the amount of focus that's placed on medpacks and plasmid stimpacks. I wish the shite would just regen already. If the game is fake enough to let me shoot fockin bees out of my hand, I don't need realistic weapon reload animations or health that doesn't regen.

I started playing Red Dead Redemption this weekend. I like this game quite a bit and I've already played for more than a dozen hours. This game is surprising in the variety of new situations that it puts the player into, though I wonder how much longer they can keep that up. I like it when people ask me for help, just out of nowhere really, and I always make an attempt.

For example... I was riding back to town late at night after completing a mission and this guy starts yelling at me from the side of the road about his friend who is being hanged, asking me to help him. I rode to the spot and tried to save the guy, but his horse got spooked from under him and he died hanging from the tree. His friend cut him down and started crying. I actually felt terrible because I had failed, but I gave it my best shot, so it isn't like I can beat myself up over it or anything.

So far, it is the little things in this game that have made the biggest impression on me as a player. It also doesn't hurt that I like the main character either, as he isn't a thug, but has a back story that makes me want to play as I think he should be played, like a good guy. I like that he has a family to get back to, so he isn't sleeping with the prostitutes and such. It is refreshing to play a positive character (so far anyways) in a game made by Rockstar.
Ya I got back into it myself. I got burned out achievement whoring but I gave that up and started just playing it. I don't care much for the online though. Free roam really sucks. But I do enjoy the co op missions (except 1). Send me a message if you are ever looking for someone to do the co op with.

My god are the NPCs ever heelarious. Irish has got to be the best character ever.

Will do. I usually don't like to do this stuff until a game is over, so it might be a while.

Yeah that is a good idea. No pressure. Although if you are looking for someone to help you with the advanced co op achievements I am not the guy

Secret of Monkey Island sucks. It's terribly unfunny, horribly awkward to control and old in less of a classic feel and more of a piece of crap feel. Plus, it's already glitched out on me. Which begs the question: Is there a single PS3 game NOT riddled with glitches and freezes?

And the hint system in here is less than useless: "That pot might make a good helmet!" I already knew that! Why don't you $&%@ing tell me how to empty the goddamned thing?? "It's boiling hot!" GO SCREW YOURSELF! :x

3 times now this game has glitched in an hour and a half. That's ridiculous.

Edit: I will say I'm having more fun though. The humor's kicked in and I'm starting to wrap my mind around the convoluted ass gameplay.

Folklore

I finished the prologue for Ellen, now playing through Keats'. I was worried at the start of the game because it was making me choose between the two, but after playing through the prologue for Ellen I think I got the jist of how this'll play out; I can keep playing the chapters for one character or rotate between the two. I'm glad I chose to play as Ellen first and to rotate, it works this way in the story timeline. Gamer instincts ftw

If you play this game, most definitely play it on PC. It's REALLY awkward on PS3. The new school remake has pretty graphics, but the interface is pretty lousy. The old school style has a better interface, but navigating it with the PS3 controller is just plain awkward.

Anyway, we're off to sea! :lightspeed:

I bought deus ex off steam. Didn't even know what type of game it was when I bought it, I just heard it was a shooter with some RPG elements. This game is actually really good for a game from 2000, it seems way ahead of its time. It is really similar to Fallout 3 except it is not open world. The missions are really nonlinear though and you can do a lot of exploring around the area and find different paths and stuff to finish the mission. There seems to be a lot of depth to the game and the game still hasn't explained the whole perks system it's got going on. One of the reasons I bought it was that stuff on wikipedia and giantbomb say "one of the most influential game of all time", I can sorta see why.

I am only 8 hours into Deus Ex. It's hard to get into a game that is so old and I don't like playing single player games on my PC. It is a good game though. It gets a lot more sandboxy so there's a bunch of side stuff to do. The main story missions are very stealth focused though and the NPC's criticize you a lot if you kill too many dudes which sucks. My biggest problem with this game is that the main missions are too wide open and nonlinear for me. There are so many forks in the road and different paths and routes to take. This was cool at first but I am really OCD about this in games so I always end up backtracking and checking every path I can and making sure I didn't miss a single thing.

When you say many paths, are you being literal or figurative? Paths as in there are several ways to approach a building you have to infiltrate? Or many paths meaning the missions themselves and choosing what to do thus maybe missing out on something?

Aight. Unofficially, I'm still playing Lunar SSS. It is slow goings. The combat system is horrendous. But the story and characters are charming as hell, so I'm still in for the W. Other than that, I'm thinking about picking up Shank. But for real, I haven't gamed since Sunday. I've been trying to finish the first single on my live album that's gonna launch with my new website.

I mean literal paths. Doors. Windows. Air vents. Sewers. Ladders. Roofs. All eventually leading to the same place.
