What version of Chrono Trigger are you playing?
The original joint on SNES.

kknd- The lag and the stupid item growing ruined that game for me. I wanted to like it a lot, too.

TSL- Cool beans, just so long as its not the PSOne version, cause it takes a superhuman will to make it through that one.

Ya, so far what kills the game for me is the slowdown and the random difficulty spike (wtf?!)

As did I. It made me not like the game, in all honesty. I had to wait until save points to equip my team because load times were so bad. It wasn't until the DS version that I realized what an excellent little game was hiding behind all the technical issues.

I played it back when it was brand new and I had a lot of patience. So I never really cared. I doubt I could go through that version again though.

Oh Metroid Prime 2. We were getting along so well until the Dark Aether. Was that really necessary? Toss us into a world where exploration is discouraged with unclear instructions about what we're supposed to do there?

Playing Trinity Universe. Currently in Chapter 3. My party consists of Kanata(43), Tsubaki(43), Etna(37) and Prinny(39). Not sure when I will get the Valkyrie or Lucius. I am just going through the two dungeons that I have anchored to see how far I can go before pushing the story ahead. Kind of weird that I have to beat each dungeon 4 times though. One for each time of the day.

No daylight, I'm too weak to face it!
Yep yep. I attempted that PS1 version. Promptly found a used copy of CT on ebay for SNES.

Aight, I took a break from Morrowind and Chrono Trigger to try and finish up Assassin's Creed 2. Since my homeboy lent it to me, it only seemed right to fight my way thru it regardless of the frustration with the platforming.

The sad part about AC2 is that underneath the horrible "press a to do everything automatic action platforming" system is a game that has a dope story and some really fun concepts. This game could have been outstanding if a different technical scheme had been employed for the platforming.

I'm trying out PixelJunk Shooter. It's good, but I dislike how collect-a-thon it is. Nothing like wasting a half hour on a level to find out you missed secret rooms somewhere and thus a couple of treasures and the special worker. :x

Yeah, this game's a nuisance. It's too focused on collecting shit (workers, special workers, treasures) and it really likes to toss a surprise at the end of each section to screw you over. Play the section perfectly, BAM!, enemy spraying water while you're in fire form, die. What fun.

Do NOT go anywhere near this piece of shit. This is one of the absolute worst gaming experiences I've ever had. It's not even worth the "Oh, it's only $5, I'll try it out." It's based around cheap encounters and collecting bullshit to waste your time. It's AWFUL. They really like to play scenarios where they put your guys right next to a bunch of enemies you need to kill. And because your ship is so tiny, you can barely aim the damned thing. And even when it's aimed perfectly, the bullets don't travel in a straight path. Meaning you get to replay and replay and replay and replay until you get the scenario where a stray bullet doesn't take out your guys. And then the magnet glitches and you get trapped under a stream of metal and die.

AVOID!

I've never played a shmup before, so maybe this is how they all are? But man, what a frustrating ass game. You've got to rescue all the guys in order to leave the level and collect X number of treasures to unlock the next world. So it's annoying to be constantly questing for stuff and trying to keep your collectibles alive. Especially because this game really loves to play it cheap. Once you know all the nonsense it'll pull, it's relatively easy, but having to meticulously do something then get screwed at the very end is rage inducing. I beat it and damned if I'm going near it again. I don't like the genre nearly enough and this game in particular.

Plus, it totally jacked the presentation from Worms down to the font. :x
