Tons of games do that these days.

I started into Bayonetta tonight. Other than all the sexual over the top innuendos it is a great game. I like it more than DMC. I would have played more Fairytale Fights but my PS3 is tied up downloading. The controls suck but beating down an army of gingerbread men with a broken lollipop axe and then sliding around in thier blood just doesn't seem to lose its appeal.

Finished Momohime's story in Muramasa. I like the game. It's pretty and didn't overstay its welcome. The translation SUCKED, though. It was done seemingly literally and so the story doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense. I'm 2 chapters into the other guy's story right now. Same areas, same enemies, new story and new bosses. So it's still enjoyable, but not as much so. Especially since I had to start back at level 1 and all that jazz. Rebuild my inventory and weapons list.

On Ch 7 in Disgaea 3. Still having a blast. This is my favourite of the series by a good shot. 2 is probably as good, but I was still trying to get my bearings through most of that. And 1 was just not fun in the slightest. I like the stages, characters in and out of battle and the story's actually pretty sweet.

The only complaint I have is the freaking dodge ability by these enemies. I don't think anyone's ever missed me and I'll have enemies dodge every attack thrown at them for multiple turns in a row, allowing them to devastate my troops. Oh, and evilties is kind of dumb since it's just an extra step and doesn't really add anything, but that's just a "Huh?" change, not so much a complaint.

But those dodges? Every single one of my tough battles can be attributed to that. I finished the final battle of Ch 6 with one character left with 26/1500 HP left. If she had dodged again, I would've had to replay again.

So I started into FF9 last night. Wowsers the cutscenes are gorgeous. How they managed to get scenes like that on the PS1 is beyond me. Had to turn down the resolution though. Which is a bit frustrating. I could understand if this was off a disc but I d/led it off the arcade. So now before I start I gotta mess around with the settings. After I'm done I gotta set everything back (I never realized what a difference it makes until last night).

Lew decided she wanted to watch me play it since she has never seen 9. She loved the opening cinematic and once the gameplay started she was gone in a flash. I can't blame her really. I couldn't sit there and watch someone else play a game like that.

Anyways got a few hours in. Made it to the save point in the ice cavern (which was a bloody long time inbetween save points). It didn't take long to remember why I love it though. There is so much to explore and do. Just wish the battles went faster. The transition time between field to ATB filling is in the seconds.

Have you tried turning on "smoothing" for PSone games? You may not have to mess with your resolution.

I haven't been resurrecting this time around (it was stupid that I did the past few times, honestly) so the game moves faster and my level's are better without any leveling. I did resurrect my ice mage into star just now because she just couldn't keep up anymore. Within like 3 leveling battles I had her at a higher level than before and back rolling with the big dogs. :yay:

Ya it is on. When I play it in HD I get a red fuzz on the screen. Believe me man I got the opening intro ingrained in my brain from testing it. I tried every resolution and it looked the best in 480. The biggest problem is remembering to set it back. It makes the XMB look terrible in 480. And I have forgotten to set it back a couple times then wonder why it looks so drastically different.

I wonder if I can get DiscWorld 2 running in HD. That could be awesome.

Oh and I am running FF9 in 16:9 so I wonder if that makes a difference.

Yeah, I'd think 16:9 would have a pretty negative effect since the picture is being stretched to fit the screen. I guess it depends on what you can live with, black bars on each side of the screen or less than stellar image quality.

Its a PS1 game I am not looking for stellar. I would much rather drop it down then deal with the black bars that is for sure. They make me feel like I am only seeing half the screen. I just thought they would account for HDtvs and make the changes needed when they port games like that.

They should. Since it costs them nothing to merely upload the game to SONY's servers - or however that works. But, I guess they can't argue with 100% profit on a game that has already payed for its development costs.

No daylight, I'm too weak to face it!
Just completely finished Sacred 2's achievements - thank GOD!

Playing Final Fight and Magic Sword when I can. Lovin it.

Also planning on boosting some achievements with friends on Rainbow 6 Vegas.

I want to start Assassin's Creed 2, but don't really want to commit to another long ass game right now.

Just when my opinion of Sony levels off I discover some new wack thing they do to hose thier customers. I don't get Sony Fanboys out of all three. Sony just seems to want to crap all over us and then use our money to wipe thier asses. If it wasn't for the amount of money I have invested in PSN it would be going in for a 360 slim.

Started up Strange Journey. Cool intro. 40 mins and we're ready to roll out into the great unknown. My character's got a Luck build, which initially threw me off, but I looked it up and I'm cool with those starting stats, so I'll just go with it. Any advice TFM? Anything I should keep an eye out for? Oh, and does this game only auto-analyze enemies or do I have that option, too?

Edit: Beat the first boss. Man, that thing curbstomped the hell out of me originally, but once I got a 3rd party member and trained everyone up a bit, we were able to take it down. I can tell this is definitely gonna be a tough one.

But yeah, analyze in here is weird, since it seems I don't have a full analysis until the demon is captured and fights with me for a while.

So I'm still not finished with FF XIII, but I dove a little deeper into my P3 FES NG+. I think I'll be sticking with this for now.

Yeah Nate, the game only auto analyzes the enemies as you play. There are several ways to get a demon's information to show up, but they only include fighting against them a whole bunch or adding them as an ally. There are no spells or anything to learn enemy information, but a quick tip is that all boss characters are immune to Mudo and Hama spells of course.

One tip is to make sure that you keep a good healing demon with you at all times. I have this one demon (Churel) that I fused and have been using for the majority of the game so far because she has the Mediarama spell and Mana Drain, so that she'll never run out of MP, which is so awesome. I now have another demon who is slightly better though, so my Churel demon is starting to be phased out of my party finally. In general, I'd have to say that the Mana Drain spell is the most useful thing in the game, so I've been trying to find ways to make sure that a few other fused demons can have it also.

Another good tip is to try and max out as many demons as possible, so that you can get their sources. After getting a source from a demon once, it becomes very difficult to get it again, so be sure not to waste them. However, demon sources allow you to shift what skills you want a fused demon to inherit, which is something that can't be done without a source (even a weak one). If you do decide to use a source, the key is to keep shuffling B, A, B, A... until you get the inherited skills that you want.

For example, my Frost Ace has a bunch of excellent skills optimized through source fusion including Agidyne, Bufudyne, Garudyne, Mamudoon, Hamaon and Berserker God. All of these skills combine to make him my most valuable attacking demon at this point in the game.

My last tip is to be sure to save often and register your demons often as well.
