Actually, not going to lie, I think I recommended this game to you a long time ago (whether you were already considering it or not) because I remember in between chapters I kept thinking "man, someone like nate would LOVE this game."

But yeah, you will definitely enjoy it.

.....talking about it makes me really want to play again. I never did go into the Mysterious Unison, maybe I should try that... (optional dungeon).

This and Vesperia were the 2 360 exclusives I wanted from Day 1. When this came over to PS3, that was strike one. When Vesperia was announced, that was the nail in the coffin and the last factor needed to decide in favor of the PS3 for me. ;)

Wolverine... Every bit the fun beat-em-up I wanted it to be. Very much worth the $20 I spent for it new. Lotta cool features in the game that make it more than just a standard Marvel Ultimate Alliance game (Which is boring as hell). But the features don't take away from the flow of the game. 8)
And it plays exactly like God of War, which you didn't like.
:? This game doesn't remind me of God of War at all. No stupid QTE boss fights and Wolverine's attacks and defense seem to have much more depth...

But I only played GoW for 30 minutes, so maybe it got better after the annoying boss fight QTE that I never felt like finishing.

Man, if you didn't like the Hydra, stay away from those games. The Hydra was the best part of any of the first two.

I played the one on PSP, so I'm not sure what I fought. All I know is that it started off with a monster that busted thru the wall. Then it was a series of timed button mashes the game would prompt me with. After a few tries I just said eff it and moved on. I figured the rest of the game would probably follow suit. I didn't want a QTE festival.

Wolverine has QTE-esque sequences... but nothing as boring as that GoW joint I played.

Where dreams come to come true.
Will say that Eternal Sonata is probably the fastest I've ever beaten an RPG. Generally it takes me months to beat one, but this one took me about two weeks thanks to it being very engaging visually and with the battle system. Story was fine...but I rather enjoyed looking at the graphics more. 8)

I remember some of the puzzles and backtracking being a bit of a pain, but once you get everyone, and you get settle into your party of choice, you can get through it at a very good pace. Falsetto, Frederic, and March were my party of choice, since their higher combo attacks really helped make battles quick and effortless, but I liked that every character had a value of some sort. There was a rare item I found and equipped to Falsetto and that basically saved the entire game since it saved me having to do any kind of healing or anything on her. I wish I could remember what it was. I guess...I could fire the game up, but I think I saved a New Game+ and thus...don't have Falsetto. :( Maybe blitz knows what I'm talking about.

Yeah, this looks like it'll be the RPG challenger Valkyria Chronicles deserves. This has the edge graphically and musically so far, but that has the gameplay and story edge. We'll see who takes who by the end.

I will say this: These games are so jaw droppingly gorgeous that it makes anything pre-PS3 look like poo droppings in comparison. :(

Use a walkthrough if you want the achievements. It also requires a 2nd playthrough I believe.

I gave up on Sonata. I might go back to it, but it just wasn't my cup of tea and crumpets.

I started playing The Legendary Starfy (DS) today. It is a cute game, but it's also very easy and simple so far. I am still only very early into the game, so I am hoping it will become more challenging later.

Nope. It stays easy. I liked it, but I felt like it was lacking. Which was a shame because I had really, really high hopes for it. Didn't stop me from 100%ing it though. :D

Edit: Also, if I remember correctly, it's pretty long for a 2-D platformer. I think I may remember like 10-12 hours on my clock, but that seems crazy thinking back on it.
