It's all of those good things Nate said, but I got upset about the fact that the game gives you a grade based on how quickly you can run through a level. It seems to me that in order to get the best grade the player has to make a mad dash to the other side of the map as quickly as possible. This means that battles are taking a back seat, which I don't like. Everything about the game seemed fine, but finishing a level as well as it could be played (fighting all of the enemies and such) and then getting a C grade at the end just really makes me angry. I never liked it when the Sonic games did this and I still don't like it now. I wish Sega would leave this grading crap out of their games. |

Running through a battle will just get you killed very quickly. You absolutely cannot ignore the battle going on or the enemy will completely wipe the floor with you. The ranks are mainly for NG+ when you can power your way through. I'm not gonna lie, though, I'm really proud of my A ranks on 18-A and 7, but when it comes down to it, they really don't matter at all.

Good to know, I don't think that'd bother me though. Watching some videos online and also trying the demo again... depends on what price I have to pay for it, whether or not that I get it. |

Well that's interesting to know then, because it is what got me to quit playing. I can't remember which level it was now, but I thought I was doing everything so well and then getting a crap grade at the end. I went online to see what it took to get the best grade and I see this guy doing a sprint to the finish line, ignoring most all of the enemies along the way, except for the ones he could kill from where he was left standing. After watching this, I remember thinking how lame it was and stopped playing right then. Anyways... Perhaps I should give the game one more try. |

Yeah, almost guaranteed he's in NG+ with level 20 scouts. ;) But yeah, grade is based off how quickly you complete the mission. It gives different EXP bonuses, but levels in this game mean squat next to tactics. Plus, playing through the main game and each skirmish once got me plenty of levels that I never felt outclassed from a leveling standpoint. And I know I got a couple of D's too. |

Resistance Retribution is really freaking hard. Maybe it is because I am playing it on my TV without auto aim most of the time. I am not sure, but I am getting my ass kicked a lot in the game. The Chimera are freaking relentless in it. I am in the Paris catacombs right now |

I know. You would too if you had as many games left to play as I do though. I'm like, "Ahh! This tiny part of a game is bullcrap! On to the next one." :lol2: |

Wait.... that game is possible to finish!? I have it on Super Nintendo, but I am stuck at one part. I think there is a glitch with my file, because it won't let me go where I need to go. I read several faqs and walkthroughs, and it looks like my file is just fucked. It's where you go through a forest, come to a cave and when you are in the cave, you go through a prison cell of some sort and come out in a big city.... another side of a city that is symmetrical. Something like that. I tried it several times, and could never go through where it told me to. Either that or I couldn't find the door the thousand times I played it. PS - I purchased Valkyria Chronicles. When I first played the demo, I didn't give it a solid chance. This time, I checked out some gameplay online, read up on it a bit, played the tutorial and the skirmish from the demo, and it is definitely something I can't wait to play. As far as it being a tactics game... even though you don't move in spaces, there is only a certain distance you can travel. But, everything is in real time, and that is awesome, and it is like a hybrid system. |

Dude. Lagoon is the effing bomb yo. Don't let the dated controls deter you. The soundtrack alone is enough to make this game worthy of playing. I had much fun with that joker back in highschool. 8) |

Fired up Enchanted Arms tonite. Not too shabby. The characters are hilarious. (especially the gay one) The story is actually interesting so far. Plan to fire up Just Cause sometime this week too. |

I think I bought it about 3 years ago because I saw you praising it. It's pretty good so far, I'm at the first dungeon so far though :) |
