The little glimmering objects here and there perked my interest. It's also funny to try and elude creatures that want to engage in combat or taunt them though I'm not sure those moves are meant for that. So far, I've beaten the Wight Knight but met a bitter end at the witch. DQ VIII was pretty good; I put 200+ hours in that one. |

Playing Ni No Kuni. Only thing I don't like so far is all of the backtracking and the fact that there isn't a shortcut button to access the Wizard Companion. Stats below: Spoiler: click to toggle

Where dreams come to come true.

I ended up breaking down and getting Ni no Kuni. I'm about 8 or 9 hours into it, presentation and the care put into the presentation is some of the best I've ever seen. I've enjoyed dungeon crawling immensely, but Level-5 dungeon crawling has always been a joy. i'm less than impressed with how wordy this game is. Everything from story content to explanations have to go on for ages and ages. Also feel battles are too frequent at times. I don't mind backtracking, actually, I enjoy doing that, but I would like it more if either the battles were less frequent or the battles themselves were quicker. Battle system itself is okay, but it's a bit clunky when trying to shake things up between characters or familiars. I prefer battle systems that I can get into a groove with the menus and fighting, but this one is nearly impossible to do that with. People who don't know what they're talking about complain about FFXIII's system, but goddamn if it didn't run like a well-oiled machine once you set it up. This feels like it's missing some of that same kind of optimization. |

I don't understand why anything related to the story isn't voiced. I usually just X my way through my quest information. |

Here is a tip for the Ni No Kuni Casino. Only go there at the end of the game. It will require a turbo controller. They are $12 at Walmart. -Buy 1000 chips. Need 5000G. -Go to the slots. -Keep bid at 10. -Start turbo with X. -Tape down X button and let it go overnight. You should have a lot of chips the next time you check. You can try higher bids, but the higher the bid, the worse you actually are. Edited by DarkCloudLives, Feb 9 2013, 02:24 AM.

From teh chatbox for DCL For the taming it only counts each unique form so if you look in the creature compendium bt talking to the stone you'll see all the ones you've encountered. About halfway through the game it started bothering me four slots across = four forms all nice and tidy so i started filling in the blanks so every row was full. meta morphed familiars and dlc also cont towards your total there are even some that never show up in the wild so yo may have to raise those up if your shy.I only really ever used my first position familiars for battles anyway so you can stick whatever in the last two for each character so the get exp. The S Rank battle I was probably just over leveled by the time I got there the 3 humans were all lvl99 and I used max level final form mitey/dino/lumberwood/naga I caught and raised. Had them set to attack other targets and just hammered away. You don't even really need mp for the last round of s just kill the healer drongo first. pedigree breeder and over famiarologist are sort of the same thing feed them their favorite food to get all 5 hearts then feed them till they get 50/50 stat bonus points it goes faster if you spread it around the other stats rather than focusing on one after you get all the hearts. Oh yeah my game is clocking in at around 150hrs or so |

I started playing NNK. I didn't get too far, just fought the first boss battle, but this game is good so far. I must say, this is the prettiest game I've ever played; I am totally blown away by the gorgeous environments and characters. This weekend is supposed to be really cold and crappy, so I am looking forward to staying in and playing this game. |

Ok, I need you guys to explain something for me... Please explain familiar growth in NNK. For example, I have a Mitey that I've fed various stuff and he's gained in various stats. His growth limit is 10/10 and the heart meter is 1-1/2 full. What do I do now? If I keep feeding him will the hearts continue to fill up? Once the next heart fills up, does that mean that I can keep leveling his stats with more food? Is all this food used to increase familiarity to get to the next heart wasted in the meanwhile? When and how do I evolve the familiar? As you can see, I just do not understand this part of the game at all. Edited by thinkfreemind, Feb 20 2013, 06:12 AM.
