That's a shame. I think Dark Souls is the much better game, because you don't have to deal with all of that world tendency stuff.

 I'm listening. World tendancy is a cool idea and all but it's limiting cause you have to plan out things a head of time or you get screwed over.

Yep. In DaS, all of that needing to have a certain world tendency for such and such to happen is gone. You can do everything in the game without having to worry that you'll miss something. There are still two endings depending on which side you choose at a certain point of the game, but that's normal for a lot of games.

As for invading and such, this game uses a "humanity" system. Humanity is used for quite a few things, but mainly to kindle bonfires (which give you more health) and to become human again. When you're human, you can invade other game worlds online and also be invaded. So if you don't want to be invaded, simply don't remain human. There are a couple of other things affected like health resistances and item drop rates, but it's not a big deal at all and it's not something you have to plan your game around like world tendency in DeS.

FFIII - at final boss
DQVIII - at final dungeon (black citadel)
Crisis Core - after the Aerith/slums section, in Shinra building

yep, they're older titles. I'm not buying a single new game until I beat the long list of all the ones I have. If that means I don't buy another game for 10 years, well, then that's what it means..

me too :P

and I had problems with poor quality hardware of the current generation consoles, my PS3's laser died twice, my x360 had a DRE AND RRoD, my PSP's D-pad is messed up right out of the box, and half of my DS's have problems with L button for some reason.... and I haven't had a single portable/console died on me since Gamegear...

I am playing through Uncharted 3. I don't know what Naughty Dog puts into their games, but every single thing they make is fucking incredible.

I just beat the last mission on Mass Effect 2 again. This time. I beat it without anyone dying. Awesome.

I started playing Earth Defense Force 2017 on the 360 tonight. This game is fun, simple, pure, good times fun. The graphics aren't great, and neither is the music, plot, voice work, etc.., but this game is a still a great shooter so far. If blasting giant alien insects and robots sounds like a good time, then this is the game for you!

My only worry is that this game will become very repetitive later on. I've done about ten missions and I'm only like 6% of the way through the game. I imagine that this is the kind of game that a player can return to over and over though, with increasing difficulty levels and gun unlocks, the fun may never end.

You won't get bored of this game, at least I didn't, wreaking havoc with a rocket launcher never gets old. The last couple of levels are ridiculously hard though and could be frustrating. Oh there's 53 levels btw :P

I started playing Persona 2 IS PSP this afternoon. This game has gotten off to a slow start, but so does every Persona game it seems. After spending about two hours walking around a school and talking to classmates, this game is finally getting started. That's all I had time for before I left for work, sadly, but I look forward to diving back into this game tomorrow afternoon.

I am thinking of doing a Persona marathon. I never did finish either Persona 3 or Persona 4 back in the day, so it seems like as good a time as any to give it a go. I wonder if I'll still feel that way after sinking what will surely be more than 40+ hours into Persona 2 though.

Since finishing FEAR 3, I started Condemned Criminal Origin. I am 4 chapters in, and I am wondering why this game scared so many people. It quit being creepy after about 2 chapters. If anything, this game is frustrating. Blocking is absolutely broken in this game. It only works when it feels like it, and most of the time it does not feel like it. It is extremely irritating. Your best option in battle is to try to avoid enemies, but you play the slowest moving character in the history of video games. His running speed is most peoples normal walking speed. Color me not impressed at this point.
