Playing Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection. If there is one thing I love, it's that there aren't any load times. |

Let me know how The After Years is. I love FFIV. It is one of the best RPGs ever made, but I have heard mixed things about The After Years |

FFXIII-2 Finished Episode 5, ready to move onto the final episode. Before that, finally got the Romulus and Remus weapon (not that I need it or will use it), I got the Clockstopper trophy (took over an hour with encounter rate increased), picked up treasure spheres I missed earlier without the advanced moogle hunt, captured a don tonberry on my first try and first encounter in bresha ruins 100 AF (another trophy), 8 levels away from maxing out my last and final role for both characters, got esunada for my green chocobo (from the flanitor), and added a few more monsters to my bestiary for that ridiculous fragment in Academia 4XX (finished up the Cieth in Archylte and also the tonberry group in bresha 100 and 300). Fragments 148/160. Just missing a couply from finishing the game, a few paradox endings, the bestiary, and one more map to 100% (the final area). Should have this finished up really soon. |

My argonian batle mage is level 34. I can now wear heavy armor without weight penalties. IT does not slow me down at all. It is pretty freaking awesome. |

I am still playing Bioshock 2. This game is excellent. I should have it finished tomorrow. It would have been finished already had I not been riding my bike so much and watching a couple episodes of Battlestar Galactica every night. |

Ok, well I am finally finished, platinum and all. There will be no spoilers below but just some of my thoughts – probably extremely unorganized but maybe I’ll sum it up with a final score. Let me start by saying that since the PS3 got trophies in like 2007, I have attempted to platinum only a few more than a handful of games – and this is the very first I have gotten (others are some shooters and the RPGs were just too far out of my reach). I knew when I got the game I was going to platinum it. The reason being, the story seemed short, the optional stuff was definitely there and certainly attainable, and there were only a couple of BS trophies. That being said, if you are going to power through this game like I did in the beginning and middle to reach an insane party early to midway in the game, you will be punished at 55-60 hours when you are finishing up trophies because there will be a few you still won’t have, that other people may naturally come across if playing at a regular pace and beat the game in 30 hours. Anyway, I really enjoyed the story, much more so than in FFXIII. Weird because I totally didn’t expect that. The game can probably be beaten in about 20 hours under leveled, even the final bosses. They were nothing special and with the right weapons, accessories, and paradigms you can still beat them in a timely manner (maybe like 5-7 minutes each boss, then the final boss somewhere between 12-15 mins, though it only took me 2.5 mins on my second run for the special ending). Noel and Serah aren’t the most amazing characters, but they certainly aren’t the worst either. Serah has a decent personality and is just the polar opposite compared to Lightning, but not in her strength or willpower. Noel started out as sort of a tool but he came around – the weird part is that in many other RPGs the main guy and girl usually are in love or like each other, etc. but in this Serah is still engaged to Snow and Noel is kind of just there – but they love still have a different love for each other. The story starts to pick up around Episode 3 I think (the latter half) but you can get there pretty quick (there are 6 total). Gameplay is good, same as XIII pretty much. Having only Serah and Noel to focus on leveling makes it much easier to setup better paradigms early on compared to XIII where most of them had to focus on certain roles off the bat. Leveling monsters once you have enough materials can be instant which is great. If you are doing enough farming and catch a monster you want, you can ideally level them up to their max stats immediately before they even fight with you. That’s my favorite part about them, I almost thought having a monster fight by your side was going to be lame but it ended up being great. You can infuse them with abilities from other monsters which is extremely important if you are going for a platinum. There were 2-3 tough battles I had with maxed out characters and chocobos but nothing insane – nice there was still somewhat of a challenge though (Serah’s 1v1 battle for the paradox ending actually took me 2 tries, and a rare opponent post story in Oerba was a good challenge as well, but I definitely had him). I think I heard some complaints about the music, I thought it was fine. Not amazing but not the worst. My favorite was Crazy Chocobo when you are riding the red chocobos which eat your greens every X amount of seconds depending on the fragments you have. -The final boss my first try took me 8 mins, but I made a mistake which left him with a sliver of health and had to fight the sub bosses again – the second try I had better accessories and got him in 2.5 mins. -The bestiary fragment was actually pretty easy once you have the Battlemania fragment skill, I found the rare enemies very easily with it – I was missing more than I had expected though. Also, one boss which you can fight 4 times in a row has 4 entries, so that must be done (can’t just fight him once) -Strategist (1000 paradigm shifts) was still not gotten at over 60 hours, I had to perform about another 250 in battle before I received it (basically just went back and forth with SEN SEN SEN and MED MED MED until I got it). Also 10,000 steps on a Chocobo is extremely ridiculous, especially since you can’t get it WHILE riding the chocobo (which I didn’t know). I ran around the Archylte Steppe for over 30 minutes last night My final party was maxed out Blue, Green, and Silver Chocobo with role resonance and had stats over 1000 for Serah and Noel (magic and strength respectively) with accessories. |

The strategist trophy was a pain, but like the 4th chapter I just paradigm shifted a minimum of 5 times per battle. Also, not sure what you meant by the riding the chocobo not counting towards the chocobo trophy. |

ME3 is good. Would have been amazing if they spend another 6 months or so on it I bet, but it was still good. |
