I almost always had Noel as a Com and Serah as a Ravager. In fact, I hardly every took Noel out of the Com role unless he needed to Sen or Sab. Serah would always have Rav, Sen, Med or Syn. My monster would normally be Gold, silver or normal Chocobo.
There are way better SEN than Noel... for me he is a high level SEN and he sucks compared to Bunkerbeast/Silver Chocobo. Serah is not a good MED either. Noel has the better MED abilities so I found having MED MED SEN as a quick healing paradigm was best. I hardly ever use the SYN SAB roles except in these battles against Yomi and Long Gui where it's basically mandatory.

My main paradigm set for Serah/Noel/Monster(GreenChocMED, BlueChocRAV, SilverChocSEN) respectively includes:
RAV COM RAV
RAV COM SEN
MED MED SEN

I forget the others because I hardly use them... probably like MED COM SEN or RAV MED SEN....

For Yomi:
SAB SYN SEN
SAB SYN MED
SAB SAB SEN
SEN SEN SEN
COM COM RAV
RAV COM RAV

Long Gui, they include:
RAV COM RAV
SAB SYN SEN
SEN SEN SEN
SAB SAB MED
MED MED SEN

Last night, I did 20+ Chocobo races to get enough casino coins to purchase the 4th fragment at serendipity. Now all I need is to win 7,777 casino coins to get the last one (which, is going to be a feat and I hope auto play can do it for me lol). Finished Oerba 300 AF and 400 AF (too many temporal rift puzzles, was a nice change of pace at first but eventually it got old after the 4th crystal bond puzzle, the 5th tile trial, and the absolute 1st hands of time puzzle). Don't think I did much else.

TO DO:
Get last fragment at Serendipity
Infuse Green Chocobo with Flanitor for Esunada (not leveled enough yet)
Defeat Long Gui and Yomi (before Episode 5)
Fight Immortal again to get Romulus & Remus weapon (+50% ATB ability) for Noel (already got Serah's from him, Indrajit with same ability)

Then, I can move on to finish the game. Sitting at 117/160 fragments right now.

What is everyone's weapon preference? The Odin weapons have great ratings the more fragments you have (so for me, they are pretty powerful). The Mana/Power Link weapons from the casino are an interesting take on equalling there weaker stat with their stronger stat. The weapons which provide +35% strength for Serah and +35% magic for Noel basically interchange their roles. Lastly, the +50% ATB rate weapons.

Playing through Dragon Age Origins, not sure that I cared about the battle system, but the game in general is pretty well done so far, at least it has that oblivion addiction inside.

Also playing through Resident Evil: Revelation, I really like the game so far, it feels like a less hardcore version of old school RE (by less hardcore, I mean so far the game is cramped with ammo and health items). The graphic is really nice too.

Another game that I have been playing through lately is SMT: Devil Survivor 2, one word to describe the game: AWESOME. It's a must have for fans of the first game, and the soundtrack is really good too. No complaint whatsoever so far (6h or so in)

Ok, I’ve done almost absolutely everything I can up to this point, with the exception of maxing out my characters (damn close though), and having more Chocobos maxed out (but, I wouldn’t really use them, my main 3 are all maxed).

Put the slot machines on auto play with enough coins to get me the stupid Lucky Coin fragment. It took me over 2000 plays, not sure on the exact number. And what happened AFTER I got the fragment? Auto play went all out and I got the 5,000 coin jackpot 3 times in less than 2 minutes. The hell bullshit is THAT? lol

Did two paradox endings (Bresha and Sunleth) which were pretty easy, so got those fragments.

FINALLY was able to beat Yomi which gave me enough CP to level another stage and then some, and was able to beat Long Gui as a result (he is really easy, just have to be powerful enough to finish him in one stagger).

Serah and Noel have 3.98 roles maxed out right now (3.98 because 3 roles are at 99 for each, one at 98 for each, and the rest in the 60-80 range). These guys are just straight beasts, seriously.

I think at this point I am going onto episode 5. There are a couple more stupid things I can do before I move on but I have decided they aren’t important. There are 5 accessories from fighting Cieth in Archylte Steppe in stormy weather which boost each role, depending on what Cieth you fight. They only take up 35 accessory points but meh, I am happy with what I have now. I could also max my guys out (absolutely no point because the CP I’ll get from the rest of the fragments and story will be enough to max me out), finish leveling my Red Chocobo, and capture/level a Purple Chocobo. Lastly, I could really be thorough with the bestiary and go back and see what monsters I’ve yet to fight that I need info on…. specifically the Cactuar, Tonberry, maybe a couple others.

Total fragments 122/160.

I got the fragment from the slots on my first 5 pulls, lucky me. Trying to use the slots any further than that is hell. The odds are too high. I just used my Gold Chocobo to race once he was at max level and he won enough races for me.

I didn't even bother with any of the accessories. I wore what I won and rarely bought anything useful.

I am absolutely loving Rage. From a technical standpoint, it may be the most beautiful game ever created. From an artistic standpoint, it is gorgeous, as well. The animation, sound design and voice acting are all stellar, as well. The enemy AI is good. No two battles are alike, and enemy type acts different in battle. They do things that I have never seen enemies do in an FPS. The game runs at 60 FPS, so it is smooth as silk, as well. The guns are a lot of fun to fire. ID Software still makes the best shotguns of all time. No other game has a shotgun with the sheer, raw power and force of ID's. They are just so much fun to use. This game is fucking awesome. There is a lot to it, as well. I am about 8 hours in, and there is a lot of game to go. Ihave not even touched the co op or competitive multiplayer yet.

Wow, you may have just written the most positive review of Rage that I've read yet. Everything I've read was so negative that it had completely stopped me from buying the game, but perhaps I'll have to give it a try after all.

My opinions on shooters tend to differ from most other people. I think the Resistance series are the best console shooters of this generation. Everyone else seems to think it is Call of Duty or Battlefield. I think both of those are overrated. I appreciate a very strong single player campaign, and, thus far, Rage has that.

I am the same way. I really enjoy the Resistance games. I think that too much focus is spent online, for most FPS games these days, instead of making a great campaign. I'll look forward to reading your final opinions on this game when you finish.

I have heard the last portion of the campaign really slacks off and that the ending sucks. I do not know. Thus far, I am way impressed. The one negative thing that I could say about it is that there is some texture pop in, but it happens so fast that it isn't that big of an issue. It is like blurry texture. Second passes. Texture is loaded.

Ok. One other thing that I can complain about with Rage. The waypoint races suck ass. In them, you have a series of waypoints that you have to drive to and collect as many of them as you can. The first to a certain point total wins. They are non linear. They are frustrating because one will appear on the opposite side of the area from you. OF course, some other car is closer to you. you just have to figure out the patter than they spawn in and hope for the best with them.

I disagree that everyone seems to think CoD and Battlefield are better shooters in terms of single player campaign. While the multiplayer is definitely better in my opinion, Resistance is still the best story line for shooters and I know a lot of people that think that who also play CoD solely for online.

The reason I stopped playing the Resistance games online was because I could only find lobbies with unlimited noob tubes/explosives only, nobody just using regular guns.... you spawn and automatically can tube across the map an unlimited number of times until you die. And sniper only rooms, c'mon.

I'm not saying CoD doesn't have cheap shit, but you run out of it fairly quickly.

Yeah, I had a maxed out Silver Chocobo which is supposedly the best to race with and has a ton of abilities like marathon/blue streak/health nut etc. but after about 30-40 races and getting the only items/weapons I want from it, I would rather spend gil to get casino coins than win it over a course of an hour lol.

The accessories I've been using are both Durable Black Belts (physical resistance +19%) and a magic + 10%/strength +10% for Serah and Noel respectively.

I think once I beat the game and max them out, I am going to reverse their roles so Serah is a commando and Noel is a ravager, just for fun.

Still waiting on that write up, DCL. ;)

I'm on my fourth and hopefully final full play through of Mass Effect 1. After having played it 4 times in a row and picking just about every dialogue option possible, I can officially say that it's actually a fantastic game. It has it's flaws believe me, but if I can do 4 20 hour play throughs in a row without really getting bored, that has to say something. Kudos Bioware. Just wish you didn't streamline the sequels so much.

With the Resistance 2 multiplayer,. I mostly stuck to the co op mode. Did you ever give that a try? It was AWESOME. I played the crap out of it.

I have not played Resistance 3 online yet. I would like to give it a try, though. I think it is disappointing that it does not have the co op mode.

The story in Rage is nothing special, but I don't expect a great story when I am playing a shooter. The biggest problem with the story is that the characters do not have much personality. They are life like and very animated in conversation. They move around and do things with their hands as they talk. IT helps to give them a more believable feel, and Bethesda could definitely learn from the character animations in this game. That being said, none of the characters have real depth to them.

One thing that I am loving is that the game is long. I am 12 hours into it, and it seems like there is 5 or 6 more hours of game left. That is how I feel. Even if there is less than that, 12 hours is pretty lengthy for a shooter. I like that. I like that the campaign has real meat on it's bones. There are things that I have not done, though. I have not played the card game, for example. I don't take an interest in card games in video games.
