I'll certainly be interested to know your thoughts on this game when you're finished. It probably wont change my mind about waiting until it's about $20 to buy, but it will have an impact on how close to the top of the pile it belongs.

Edit: Why is Pokemon a category? :lol2:

Basically it's a "gotta catch em all" category.

I can tell you that if you have the patience then you can level everything to 99 in episode 1.

If you want to and have the patience to then you can max your levels out at the very beginning of the game, but it would take you a long time to do so. I am pretty much destroying everything so far with some exceptions like special non-story bosses.

My Testudo has an HP in the 8000s but all he does is buff my characters.

So I'm in Ch. 11 of FF XIII right now, and I'm beyond frustrated. The difficulty has seemingly been cranked up so much compared to other chapters. I'm having more trouble with regular encounters than I have with the majority of the bosses so far! I've had a lot of fun with this game, but I just want it to be over with so I can play XIII-2.

I'm also playing a lot of Soul Calibur V. If anyone has it, let me know and we'll go a few rounds!

Where dreams come to come true.
It'd been a long time since I played, but when I fired it back up, I was on chapter 11 (I think...big field chapter 11?) and the difficulty is wonky. Some enemies are tough to beat if you can beat them and then the EXP you get is really ridiculously minuscule for the amount of effort it takes on a lot of them. I'm sure this was discussed at lengths when everyone played the game, but I get tired of playing it before I get three orbs completed. :P

Yeah, Ch. 11 is the big field. I'm not so mad with the big field as I am with the groups of 6 or 7 enemies they put directly in my on-so-linear path that can decimate my party in the blink of an eye. Re-goddamn-diculous.

I'm still playing Kirby Mass Attack. I thought this would be a quick game that I'd have knocked out in a few days, but it's taken about two weeks so far because I lack the motivation to play this game for long amounts of time, because this game sucks.

I have enjoyed every Kirby game I've played (and I've played most all of them), but this is hands down the most frustrating Kirby (and DS game for that matter) game ever. The difficulty is insane, and not in a good way. When hit by an enemy attack, rarely do I feel like it's my fault, but rather the game using cheap tactics. The entire game is spent trying to herd 10 little Kirbys to dodge obstacles and attack enemies. There are plenty of times when a Kirby or two will not keep up with the rest of the group and then get hit, which wouldn't be so bad if the game didn't have a system in place that rewards gold ribbons for perfect runs of stages that are often more than five minutes long. Combined with the task of collecting all of the medals, which often requires repeated runs of a stage due to branching paths and requirements on the number of Kirbys needed to unlock some of those paths, not to mention some of the medals being hidden away in difficult places that cannot be returned to, this game is seriously annoying.

Another thing I find infuriating is the wonky side-scrolling camera that will not follow the action the way I want because of a lagging Kirby left behind. This is annoying and can very often result in Kirbys being hit by attacks. The problem could have been solved if the camera would zoom out a little bit in these situations. As it is, the camera is much too close to the action in the first place really, but that's a minor gripe and may not be an opinion shared by others. Also, this game is perfect for people who enjoy the escort missions of other games, which I'd think is nobody. Much of the time spent playing this game feels like a chore due to having to keep all of the Kirbys as close together as possible.

My last complaint is that this game feels like it was designed for one purpose, to ruin DS screens. This has got to be the most stylus intense game I've played on the DS yet, even more so than Big Bang Mini. Everything about this game requires flicking the Kirbys around the screen with the stylus as fast as possible, breaking obstacles, attacking enemies, everything! I'm not a little kid, so I know that it doesn't require more than a gentle touch with the stylus to play this game, but many systems owned by children will be wrecked playing this game, which is probably just what Nintendo is hoping will happen. I am playing this game on my new DSiXL, but had thought about playing on my normal DS just in case.

I will try and finish this game today, because I really want it to be over. I am not enjoying playing this and cannot see my mind being changed in the last few levels that remain. Unlike every other Kirby game, I will not be trying for 100% because the challenge just isn't worth the trouble.

I am currently playing yet another Kirby game: Kirby's Return to Dreamland. This game is a lot of fun. It's a traditional Kirby game, so Kirby inhales enemies for their abilities, etc... There are special abilities in the game that create a kind of mega Kirby capable of destroying huge obstacles and let Kirby run riot on nearly everything on the screen. Aside from the levels, there are a couple of mini-games that aren't too great, and some challenge rooms that test skills with certain power-ups in order to get a great (gold medal awarding) score.

I played 2 demos today: Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning and The Darkness II.

Kingdoms of Amalur: This is the glitchiest demo that I have ever played, and I hope the final version fixes the serious issues that this presented with. The sound cut in and out. The land would occasionally glitch up. It would skip through important quest dialog. From a technical standpoint, this is nothing to write home about. From an artistic standpoint, it looks beautiful. The creature and world design is top notch. What really stood out about this demo, though, was the combat. This is some o the best hack n slash combat I have experienced in quite some time. It made me pay attention despite the buggy nature of the demo. This one seems like it is worth a look.

The Darkness II - I did not think it could be possible, but this game is more brutal than the first. The gunplay feels better, which is awesome. The darklings are cut down to one, but he has more of a personality. I do miss the darkling with the mini gun. The darkness can be used more effectively as a weapon, as well. IT uses more of a comic book look for it's graphics where the original used more of a realistic look. The characters are still interesting, and Patton is still AWESOME as The Darkness. IT felt like a more linear experience, which I did not like. This is one that I will be picking up at some point. I quite liked the first one, and I want more of Jackie's awesome story
