Well, I learned a valuable lesson tonight. If you go for trophies, do it from the beginning. Don't just play the game for fun, then realize, "Hey, I've got a lot of trophies, I bet I could go for platinum." 2 1/2 hours I spent trying to use every combo on the handful of enemies in the beginning of a new game in Prince of Persia. Only to find out I didn't do one correctly. GREAT. It'd take hours of playing in order to unlock the next areas with new enemies to try that again. Not happening. At least that saved me the hassle of trying to round up the last 100 light seeds. It is really frustrating to be 2 trophies shy of platinum though. :(

At least I scooped up some others I missed last playthrough since I wasn't going after them then, though.
I like going through a game the first time without worrying about trophies or anything like that. Are you gonna go for the LBP platinum? There's one trophy for acing every single story level and I was pulling my hair out trying to ace the collectors lair and the bunker. That damn giant wheel at the end of the bunker killed me so many times I was going crazy.
Not really planning on it. PoP was mostly cause I realized how close I was when I had finished the game. Honestly, I don't expect to go hardcore for trophies unless I really enjoyed the game.

Yeah, well I've already beaten half these bammas on this board with only 2 games and 3 weeks.

Also, can someone explain why Weidle's world rank is higher than mine despite him having less than half the medals I do?

Turns out level creating in LBP isn't very much fun. First the 10,000 tutorials. Then, I realized there's WAY too much stuff to sort through on the off chance the thing I want might be in there. Honestly, it's not gonna be worth my while to build a level. I know what I'd like to do, but the hassle of getting there? Don't really care that much about bringing that idea to life.

As awesome as Valkyria Chronicles is, the difficulty is starting to wear a little thin. It wouldn't be a problem if levels weren't so bloody long. It's becoming increasingly frustrating to play an hour and then have to start over because of some decision you made 40 minutes ago. I'm only on the 2nd half of Ch. 10 and I'm already kind of ready for the game to start wrapping up. I'm starting to get the vague feeling that it's gonna overstay it's welcome before too long (like so many games like to do) and begin to drive down what was an A+ experience so far. There's more than enough story to support it and the combat is as fresh as ever, but the level designs they've been throwing at me of late haven't been nearly as fun as the beginning of the game.

Yeah... starting to wish VC was over. I still adore the story (more and more as it goes on, honestly), but I'm getting a little tired of the game itself. Still great, but the whole hour long mission thing is getting tiresome. It's definitely overstaying its welcome at this point. Especially when annoyances like 2 lancers at point blank range on an enemy tank, one misses, hits the battery on the Shamrock, blows it up, second misses entirely and the first on a 2nd try misses the battery and hits the tread (and yes, those things are fully upgraded). It's still a great battle system, great game, but it needed to end earlier when I still loved it because now those annoyances that I didn't care about are starting to get on my nerves. I've still got 10 missions to go and that's really not a prospect I'm relishing. I wish I could just turn it to movie mode and watch the rest.

Let me know what you think of Layton 2. I wasn't the hugest fan cause of the puzzle switch, but I'm curious how you'll like it. It does feature a REALLY cool scene at the end.

As much as I love playing MW2 online, people are so right about the amount of campers in comparison to MW. It almost seems like some maps are built to accomodate it. Wasteland is terrible for this. Yeah, it's a wide open sniper's paradise... on the surface. In reality, one team just sits in a cave in the trenches, and it's impossible to kill them unless everyone bum rushes in because they have a perfect vantage point to pick you off if you even peek in to lob a grenade. I'm hell on wheels on Derail and Scrapyard, though. 8)

So I've decided to take a break from VC since I was starting to lose patience with it. I'm about 1/3 through Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. It's fun. It's probably around Superstar Saga level for me. Definitely better than the last game. I kind of wish Bowser played differently than Mario though. Honestly, the been there done that feeling is the only real downside to this game. It tosses in all sorts of new stuff, but it still feels just like another Mario & Luigi game. Still, Fawful's back so that's worth the $35 (or Christmas gift) alone. :D

I bought FF IV for the DS (even though I have FF Chronicles) to play on the trip up to Chicago, and I'm on Mt. Hobbs now. I get the feeling I'm underelveled because the Mom Bomb just destroys me, even though I haven't really ran from battles- I just take them as they come. I haven't had any problems up to this point. :(

It's worth it. Chronicles is one of my least favourite games and the DS version is one of my favourite. The difference is that big. Two things: 100% maps and use status stuff in boss battles. So, buff, shell, cast slow on all bosses, haste your guys.

Just got to Baron again after getting my Paladin on with the twins up at Mt. Ordeals. Based on the few boss battles I've had so far, it feels like this game is kinda unbalanced when it comes to random encounters' strength vs. boss strength. It's nothing crippling, though. I just hate replaying boss battles.
