Been pimpin' since pimpin's been pimpin', pimpin'!
Still trying to work on my Top 10 of the year. I feel like I need to wait till I listen to Royce Da 5'9" before I make a final list. As of right now, here are some possible listers:

Cascada
Paramore
Eminem
Cudi
Jay-Z
Street Sweeper Social Club
Mos Def
The Lonely Island (?)
N.A.S.A (?)
The Mars Volta (?)

Decemberists- Awesome CD. Really took me by surprise. Probably Top 10 material, maybe even Top 5.
Snoop Dogg- AWFUL. Words can't express how BAD this CD. One of the worst $5 purchases I've been forced to make.

I really disliked that Decemberists cd. We played it at work for awhile, and it did a successful job of annoying the crap out of me. I generally don't mind them, but I didn't like this one.

How well did you actually get to listen to it though? I can imagine it could get obnoxious played over and over in the background when that's your only exposure. It's basically the soundtrack to a musical. It's set up even to the point it has acts, curtain music and repeating musical motifs. The story's absolutely fantastic and the lyrics and music complement it perfectly. It's really an incredible piece of work. I'd definitely pay to go see it put on as a production, that's for sure.

I tried to give it a fair shake. At first we had it playing on random, and it's even worse in random, but every so often I'd take it off random when it was in the rotation, and I couldn't really get into it. I got the concept it was going for, but it didn't really do it for me. I just found it to be overwhelming and annoying to listen to. Not as bad as hearing James Taylor singing that "oh what a beautiful morning / oh what a beautiful day" song every day, but still. No thanks on that one.

But that isn't to say I don't like the Decemberists. I have one of their EPs, I enjoy it, and songs I've heard off of Picaresque are nice, though I have yet to invest in the album. This one...just wasn't my scene.

No daylight, I'm too weak to face it!
I don't think I ever mentioned how dope Killswitch Engage's album in 2009 was. They really stepped up their game.

This Dave Matthews album is absolutely BEAST. I'd go so far as to say one of their best. It's just as good as I'd hoped.

Saw them twice last summer. Amazing.

I can imagine. Probably broke the bank, though. Is Shake Me Like a Monkey as absolutely fire live as it is on CD?

Broke the bank? Hardly. I got lawn seats. Cost me altogether like $60 bucks total for both.

Shake Me Like A Monkey is amazing. Even when I am in the car, that song just lights it up. But to see Dave in concert and play that song.... you have to be there. Can't really explain it. It's like that for all of them... I was going to post you my favorite songs from the album, but I'll just tell you it's the whole album.

As for the slower songs, they are great live as well. Between the lighting, all his stories, the music, his concerts are the best I have ever seen. If you get the chance this summer to go, you should. I think if he play's in Hershey Park I might try and make it out that way (he usually does).
