1. The Most Important Rule As in real life, the most important rule of The Fantasy Baseball League 2008 is RESPECT. All members of this league need to show proper respect for fellow league members. Any members who repeatedly create problems within the league will be removed. I feel that this is the basis of any successful league. 2. The Second Most Important Rule INTEGRITY. The league will succeed or fail based on the activity level and integrity of it's members. Everyone participating in this league is expected to remain active and to conduct themselves with the best interest of their team in mind. Inactivity, Collusion or any actions designed to undermine the integrity of the league will NOT be tolerated. League Setup -- Major Leagues 1) 12 Team League 2) 25 Man Major League Roster. 3) C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UTIL, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, BENCH x9. 4) 5 Keeper slots to be designated at the end of the season. 5) Draft type To Be Determined 6) Scoring categories To Be Determined 7) Host site To Be Determined (Likely cbssportsline.com) League Setup -- Minor Leagues 1) Each team will have a 5 Man Minor League Roster. ALL levels of baseball are eligible to be drafted, with the exceptions noted below. 2) Players with under 500 MLB at-bats or fewer than 100 ML Innings Pitched at the start of the 2008 Season will be eligible for the Minor League team. 3) Players who fall within this criteria can be moved from the Minor League team to the Major League team as often as the manager wishes. 4) Once a player exceeds the limits outlined in Point #2, they are no longer eligible for the Minor Leagues once promoted to the Majors. A Manager may choose to leave that player on the Minor League roster until the end of the season, at which time Point # 6 will come into play. 5) All Minor League players are retained from season to season. 6) Any Minor League players who have exceeded the Limits outlined above will need to either be designated as a Major League Keeper or released. 7) A supplemental Minor League Draft will be held each season to fill empty spots. 8) Minor League records will be maintained on these forums. 9) The Minor League Draft will be conducted on these forums. 10) Minor League Transactions must be both posted on these forums AND emailed to the Commisioner. Trading Trading is encouraged within the league. A combination of Major and Minor League players may be included in any deal. Any trades involving Minor Leaguers will need to be outlined on these forums. Trades will be opened for PUBLIC comment on these forums prior to being accepted or declined. Those teams involved in the trade should take that opportunity to explain why each team feels the trade benefits them. Each League member will be asked to vote: Accept, Decline or Abstain. Anyone not voting will be counted as Abstaining. Those teams involved in the trade will NOT have a vote. In the case of a tie, the trade will be upheld. Final decision on all trades will be made by the Commisioner. When making my decisions I will base my decision on whether or not I feel each team legitimately is improving themselves. Trades do NOT have to be 100% balanced. For example, a contending team trading Minor League talent for an established Major Leaguer will be perfectly acceptable. For trades involving the Commisioner's team, a majority vote of the League's members will serve as the basis for acceptance/denial. Each League member will be asked to vote: Accept, Decline or Abstain. Anyone not voting will be counted as Abstaining. Those teams involved in the trade will NOT have a vote. In the case of a tie, the trade will be upheld. Should the Commisioner deny a trade that the league feels should have been upheld, a special vote can be undertaken. If a 2/3 majority agrees that the Commisioner's decision was incorrect, it will be overturned. Draft Order -- this only pertains if we choose to do a snake draft, rather than an auction draft. Draft order will be determined randomly the first year. The Minor League draft will take place in reverse order of the Major League draft. In subsequent years, the Draft Order will determined by a lottery system similar to the NBA. Details are listed below. Draft picks can NOT be traded. 1st Place: 7 balls (0.7% chance of 1st pick) 2nd Place: 8 balls (0.8% chance of 1st pick) 3rd Place: 10 balls (1% chance of 1st pick) 4th Place: 17 balls (1.7% chance of 1st pick) 5th Place: 28 balls (2.8% chance of 1st pick) 6th Place: 43 balls (4.3% chance of 1st pick) 7th Place: 67 balls (6.7% chance of 1st pick) 8th Place: 90 balls (9% chance of 1st pick) 9th Place: 123 balls (12.3% chance of 1st pick) 10th Place: 158 balls (15.8% chance of 1st pick) 11th Place: 199 balls (19.9% chance of 1st pick) 12th Place: 250 balls (25% chance of 1st pick) Changes to the Constitution Any member may propose a change to the constitution for discussion. If discussion reveals the change is favorable to the majority of the league, a special vote will be held. A 75% majority must be obtained to make a change to the constitution. All changes to the constitution must be approved by the Commisioner. Edited by avalonbws, Feb 3 2008, 10:27 PM.
