You kidding? The graphics look amazing! You can't expect every game to be Crysis.

It really sounds like the USB port would be the best option to me. That way, they can bypass the console stores completely. TES Nexus would just have to be modified slightly so mods can be downloaded to flash drives, plug in ze flash into ze Play Station, and viola! That wouldn't cost Beth or the console companies a dime. It just transfers all the work to the players, which is what mods are in the firstplace.

Are you implying that I lied about staying at home and doing nothing on New Year's? Do you think that I'm secretly a massive party animal and just trying to hide my awesome life from you all to avoid you becoming jealous?

You don't understand computers very well, do you? :P TES Nexus wouldn't have to change a single thing for that to be possible. You can do it already. Just download the mod to your computer, then copy it to the USB drive. Viola. Though, it would still require some work on Bethesda's part. They'd have to make it so that mods can be installed from a USB drive.

That would be simple enough. Make a program that converts ESMs, ESPs, and BSAs to a standard Xbox or PS3 container file, and copy-pasta.

Yeah, I'll have to agree with Vanir there. I'll do it when I go through as evil.

That is possibly the funnest sounding thing ever in a video game, ever. (Hyperbole)

Why slaughter everyone when you can bankrupt a town and watch everyone become unemployed and lose their homes!

THIS. Oh my god, that was one of the things I hated about Oblivion.

Anyhow, apparently (and I don't know if this is official or not, just rumors, but it makes sense) the two skills they took out aside from Mysticism are Athletics and Acrobatics. I say it makes sense because Athletics is no longer needed due to the sprint feature, and Acrobatics is easily replaceable by perks (or at least anything beneficial from it; less fall damage, dodging, etc.). Blade and Blunt obviously don't exist anymore, but they're replaced by One-Handed and Two-Handed, so they don't deserve mentioning.

Well I hope they doesnt make it like Oblivion that maces had more damage then axes, if they are going with one-handed and two-handed.

Why? It makes sense. The maces and hammers are slower but do more damage while the swords are faster and do less damage with the axes being in the middle. If you take out the maces do more damage part, it all falls apart.

Assom has a point, really; it did help balance the game.

And bankrupting towns sounds fun. Time to increase local suicide rates and stir up angry mobs! Yaaaay!

So? That's not necessarily bad. Being complicated isn't always good. That's why there are so few people who actually play D&D anymore. If they're simplifying something to streamline it, which is the feeling I get here, then it's perfectly acceptable and probably actually even better than the alternative. Let's take a hypothetical situation for an example. Let's say there's a game called Dungeon Adventure where, if you want to equip a new weapon that you just found, you have to go through five screens. Then, Dungeon Adventure 2 comes out with a simplified inventory system that lets you switch weapons with only one screen. That's far better than the first game, despite being much simpler.

Well yes, there are definitely necessary changes, but doing away with like 3 skills. That's not needed.

Simplification is good if it increases the net enjoyment of the game. Full stop.

Unless those skills are, themselves, unnecessary. Really, both athletics and acrobatics have been entirely pointless ever since the beginning. If you don't max them out, all it does is make it significantly more annoying for you to explore the world. Thus, most everyone just maxes them out as quickly as possible. I still remember the time I'd spend running into a corner for hours on end with a weight holding down the analog stick or key while I went off and did something else. Protip: If the player gets bored and leaves the game to do something more exciting, you're doing it wrong. As for Mysticism, well, who the fuck even uses Mysticism, especially in Oblivion? Without the teleportation spells, Mysticism is completely useless.

Besides, their logic behind the removal of Mysticism is sound: It's the magical college of Mysticism. It's redundant, and anyway the spell effects have just been moved around to other colleges; It's not that big of a deal.

Yep. The maces have a speed of 0.9 while the war axes have a speed of 1.1, except for the Elven War Axe which has a speed of 0.9 but has longer range to compensate. Then the warhammers have a speed of 0.7 while the battle axes have a speed of 0.8.
Those are the numbers in Oblivion. I'm sure Morrowind isn't much different, either.
