TESFU Modding Team; get the old band back together

We used to have a pretty decent group of modders together who would help out with one another's ideas. We at least had a few mods out there previously, and there were definitely some people willing to help. Sooo, why don't we get some kind of team back together. I am in no committed role, but I can definitley help with ideas and manage this thread. Why don't we figure out who can script, who can texture, and who can do some random stuff as well, and organize a little bit. Also, why don't we come up with a few manageable ideas while we're at it, to see if there's something we want to work on.

Just thought it would be worth starting one of these after all.

By the way, any whereabouts on Ibis?

Aww, I miss Ibis. Any sight of Ironed Maidens too?

And yeah, so I figured I may as well keep a running list of what people could do with the construction set. How advanced is everyone?

I emailed Ironed Maidens but he never responded. :(

As far as my skill in construction set... it's exclusive to interiors. :P

I used to be a fantasmical modeler. Not so much, anymore, but I could probably learn again. I'm also good with Landscaping and interiors. Hmm, my best friend is also a grand modeler, and I might be able to get him to join.

Hmmm, I might join this team of yours perhaps. :D

Well, my most exceptional quality in modding is scripting. It's the part of modding I love the most, and have been doing it for 6 years now. I can also build interiors/exteriors, which I'm pretty good at as well...learned that alongside scripting. Dialogue, Journal Entries classes/races/birthsigns/etc, adding in new content...all that. I know my way around just about every detail of the Construction Set.

Things I can't do. I can't make models, I've tried Blender...but never got interested. Also, third party programs like MGE, MWSE, and MWE are not in my experience. Though I can easily work with Enchanted Editor.

If I could keep myself interested enough to stick around, I could definitely help out, time allowing. I haven't done much modding for quite some time, but it shouldn't be too hard to pick back up again. I can model (though I don't know what kind of exporting TES games use for models) but I'm not so hot with texturing.

Alright, I have to go to work, but when I come back I'll edit the first post to make this all mesh together. Meanwhile, anyone have any simple ideas for a first-mod?

Ibis was the head of the project and she's gone. Other people were part of it, then they weren't. It was just sort of forgotten. It'd be cool to get it started up again, though.

We could do it without Ibis. We just have to get enough dedicated modders.

I think Ibis still has what we had of Neacrythe (see that? I even remember the name :D). I think I might remember her giving it to Lettuce too? I dunno.

Well, if we have still have those files, that would be a good place to start. Of course, we have a bunch of talented modders, so why not brainstorm some ideas.

Also, the first post is now edited with member modding abilities. :)

Unless she shows up, I don't think so. Even with her around there was little interest. I'm not trying to be cynical here, but I wouldn't be surprised if any attempt to breathe life back into it would just be beating a dead horse.
There are many people who try to make big expansive mods and never follow through. We shouldn't look on this failure as something sad; we should look at it and think that maybe we just put too much on our plate.
Get a mod team together; make smaller mods. Once the team becomes solid and loyal, maybe you can start working on something huge again. You need a strong foundation before you can start building.

That's a very good point. Sort of like my view of my problem with finishing novels. Writing short stories would probably help me become a better novelist. I like your thinkin', Ninja.

Yeah, I agree with you Ninja, shorter mods could help the team to mesh at least to start. Let's do that then. How about we make a list of ideas, and maybe even have our first idea be voted on in a competition?

Well, I forgot to take into account what games everyone mods for...but just looking down the list it looks like everyone can do interiors, some people can do a bit of everything, so why don't we stick to like a town mod or a dungeon mod or something with basic scripting. And maybe some contributions from fan-fic writers?

I could be a writer. We'll need some of them anyway. Quest-writing, book writing, etc. I don't think I'll be able to do interiors. I'm really no good. I should stick with writing.

Well from experience, interiors aren't TOO hard, so we could have one person on interiors, one person writing, and one person doing miscellaneous things and then combine it altogether.

If anyone else plays EU III I've learned how to script stuff in it like events, countries and all that good stuff. Mostly because it's pretty easy. :P

Not sure too much on anything else though. I couldn't get the construction set to work on my laptop.

Instead of a town or something, lets make something simpler, but very well done.

Hmm, I'm thinking making a bookshop. Since we have a lot of fan fics, and we can have non TES writings as well.

HEY
Lettuce you just Said my idea out loud!

how about we use the TESFU Book mod, Combined with our skills in Interior design [I can supply the NPC(s) if needed] and some extra books [all depending on how much the writers want to write], and make a TESFU BookSTORE out of it?
