The first thing to find out, is how to play' your character's role. Story Lines The tales and adventures your characters have are split into threads, known as Story Lines (SLs for short). Each time you participate in and complete an Story Line a moderator will give each participating play a rating out of five, which will correlate into how many Star Points and Coins you receive. If you think you're next adventure is too big for just one little thread, you can produce it over a series of threads, which would be an Arc. There are two main reasons a player should always look to develop and detail their story from an SL to Arc. Firstly, each individual SL within an Arc is graded separately, meaning an Arc will undoubtedly give more chances for rewards than a single SL. Secondly all it is only at the stage of Arcs and above, that adventures of characters can be canonical, meaning they can change the dynamics of the story's location. A collection of connected Arcs is called a Saga. To find out how to make a collection of SLs into an valid Arc, or Arcs into a valid Saga, head to the Canonical Complex. Each player is only allowed to have one main character per SL. In other words, no individual player's main characters can ever meet. Rewards The most obvious form of rewards is from the rating a character gets at the end of an SL. The ratio is 1:1:1. In other words, the numerical value of an SL rating denotes how many coins and Star Points you receive. Be aware, Members can be awarded a Star rating of 0, meaning they are given no after-SL rewards! It also means the maximum standard reward for an SL is 5 Star Points along with 5 Coins. However this is not the only means of receiving rewards. Bonuses can be rewarded to SLs based on in-character evolutions in your characters wealth and or stature. These will, however, be uncommon occurrences left at a moderator's discretion as to whether the in-character changes or gain is worthy of an out-of-character reward. While this could mean additional Coins or Star Points, it can also refer to special and rare items. Rewards can also be given for competing in Events put on by the Legacy Staff. The Importance of SP and Coins Coins are the currency of this RP and pay for just about every item available other than Badges. (For a list of items, check the Coconut Mall Menu) Star Points are what fundamentally decide your abilities and scope of influence in the Mushroom World. Ranking Ranking is proof of how famous (or even infamous) your character is within the Mushroom World. Being reputable makes others flock to you, look out for you, and maybe even hunt you! The more Star Points, the easier it will be to grow from one stage of stardom to the next, though it is possible to Become a Superstar with only 30 superstar points (before you even acquire a new badge). There are 6 Ranks available. Below is a description of each and the necessary achievements. Novice (Unlock 1st Region) - At this level your character has become competent enough to traverse other Areas in their local region, and are able to participate in Inter-Area Arcs. Rookie (Unlock 2nd Starting Point) - At this level your character has become competent enough to stretch out to new horizons and spread their reach to neighbouring locations. Experienced (Unlock 2nd Region and complete four 5-star SLs) - At this level your character is adept at what they do and have attained inter-regional fame. World Class (Unlock 2nd Island and complete two 4-star Arcs) - At this level your character is phenomenal. Countries see you as an instantly recognisable name. SuperStar (Complete a 3-star Saga) - Congratulations! You've made it! Your name, and achievements will be written down in history for men women and children of all time to know who you are and what you have done. It's impossible for you to be any way and not gravitate excitement adventure and notoriety! ...Seriously can I get your autograph? Legacy - A rank only for those who have become larger than life itself. You have become such a star pitting you on par with the Red-Capped Hero would be an insult to you. You're so awesome, anyone goes up against you at whatever it is you do best deserves world-wide recognition if they are anything but humiliatingly destroyed. You're so recognised regular citizens don't want to be in your presence. That alone could be enough to put their town, family or even way of life in danger. Anyone, anywhere could assassinate you to reach super-stardom. In fact you're too famous. Go back to being a superstar... Edited by Strider Mario, Mar 24 2010, 01:46 PM.

Traversing the Mushroom World Locations are divided on the board like so: Site - Board - Forum - Subforum World - Island - Region - Area e.g. Mushroom World - Greater Mushroom Kingdom - Central - Toad Town For each region you will have a starting point (generally denoted by how you arrived in said new region). While you may be limited within your new region as far as roaming goes, you can travel back to a previously unlocked region at any viable time. To unlock all Areas within a Region, a Character must gain a total of 10 Star Points from their Starting Point. To Unlock a another Starting Point in a new Region a Character must have started, ended or continued an Arc within all their prier regions and have unlocked each of their former regions (in other words, for each new region at least one Arc must have been completed in the region before as well as 10 star points from their respective starter points) To Unlock a new Island, a character must have three Regions, unlocked in all former Islands. A list of each characters unlocked locations is noted in the character sheet. (Note, that for Clans, the roaming range depends entirely on the Achievements of the leader, irrespective of whether another member has a more diverse or differing roaming range.)
