7. Staff may choose to withhold punishment if they deem necessary.

Please keep in mind that exceptions can ALWAYS be made, and a staff member at ANY time may extend/reduce the length of any punishment WHENEVER they feel it is needed.

What is Spam?

Spam also stands for Stupid, Pointless, Annoying, Messages

First off, let it be known that Spam is unacceptable on the forums and in the clan chat. The only place where spam is permissible is under the Forum Game section found Here. This forum doesn’t count towards your post count; however we do ask not to go psycho crazy with the spam there as well. .

Everywhere else on the forum, we expect people to post constructive posts, either stating their opinions, offering suggestions or criticism, or offering new ideas.

One word posts are considered spam. It is highly unlikely that you will say anything constructive with one word.

Basically, to avoid getting in trouble for spam, try to stay on topic as much as possible. For example:

On a blog about Runescape Level Goals, you wouldn’t post “I <3 Unicorns”.
That has nothing to do with the blog, and would be considered spam.

Try to avoid posting chat-speek (l33tsp3@k) in your posts. A little bit here or there is tolerable, but nothing excessive. Please notice the difference in the following two scenarios:

1st || In an Introduce Yourself Topic, a reply that look like “ZOMG. U R S0z L33t. L3tz M@k3 B@bi3z would be unacceptable.

2nd || In that same topic, a reply that said “Nice to meet you, why are you so l33t pl0x” Would be acceptable.

Going into any topic and posting such phrases, especially with nothing in else in your post are frowned upon;
Tl;dr, qfe, I Lol’d etc.

Punishments for Spam:
1st Offense: The first time will be a simple, friendly reminder that spam is not acceptable on the forums
2nd Offense: Official Warning Increase. Everyone starts at Zero, but you only have so many warn increases before you become banned.
3rd Offense: Temporary Ban – Length to be decided by Owners based on severity of the spam, previous infractions and may lead to post moderation upon return.
4th Offense +: Ranging from Longer Temp Ban to possible Permanent Ban, again at the decided upon by Owners.

What is Flaming?

First off, you should know that Flaming is against SuperNovae Rules. ANYONE found to be flaming another person, no matter their rank will receive consequences in accordance to the same policy as spam.

Flaming: An online argument that becomes nasty or derisive, where insulting a party to the discussion takes precedence over the objective merits of one side or another

Also can be considered Insulting or Offensive to another player. Please keep in mind that punishments will be handed out to anyone found flaming.

Just to re-cap Punishments for flaming:
Punishments for Flaming:
1st Offense: The first time will be a simple, friendly reminder that flaming is not acceptable in game or on the Forums
2nd Offense: Official Warning Increase. Everyone starts at Zero, but you only have so many warn increases before you become banned.
3rd Offense: Temporary Ban – Length to be decided by Owners based on severity of the flaming, previous infractions and may lead to post moderation upon return.
4th Offense +: Ranging from Longer Temp Ban to possible Permanent Ban, again at the decided upon by Owners.
