Name: Lye Fyrestorm Gender: Male Age: 19 (Ageless) Star: Tenkai Star Race: Human Weapons: Lye's only weapon is a finely crafted, but well used iron longsword. It is basic, the handle is 15 cm in length (providing room for two hands), a straight double-edged blade around 90 cm in length, and weighs between 1.2 and 1.4 kg. The leather wrapping on the handle is dark brown and he can weild the blade with either one hand or two effectively. Appearence-Physical: He is lean, with wiry arm and leg muscles. He has pale skin, dark, narrow green eyes, a sharp nose, and a tight mouth. He stands a thin 6 feet tall, and has rough, messy dark brown hair. He has the Gale Rune engraved on his right hand, the Rune of Punishment permamently stored on his left. His forehead sports the Sunbeam Rune, though this is usually covered by his hair. Appearence-Wardrobe: Lye wears a very simple outfit. He wears light brown cloth pants and a dark brown leather belt that has no buckle, so he simply ties it together. On the left side of this belt is where his scabbard hangs for his sword, which is also dark brown leather and iron. He also has a pair of hard, dark brown leather boots, well worn from travel. His tunic is dark purple, covering his rusting iron chainmail armor, and the sleeves of the tunic are tattered and torn at the cuffs. Personality: From his many years of travel, Lye has become very quiet and solitary, contrary to his more joyful and outgoing personality from before. He thinks more carefully about situations then most other people, as the danger of dying means that the Rune of Punishment would be passed to another person, someone who might not be able to handle the burden. He has a very strong sense of justice, and will not leave others in need. Backstory: Lye grew up in the Country of Vaeven, living with his mother and father peacfully and happily. In his youth, he liked to pretend that he was a brave hero who would save the city with his excellent sword skills. When he reached the age of 13, he became a squire for the Vaeven Knights, and trained under the watchful eyes of the powerful knights. He practiced for years at the sword, and other things a knight needed to know. When he was 16, Demmor launched one of their attacks against the City, the attack was lead by Emperor Sratus himself. This was very odd, as the Emperor has never led any attacks himself, as it would be too dangerous. As the fighting broke out, the Knights found themselves outnumbered three to one. As a last ditch effort, one Knight-Champion used a True Rune, a cursed one known as the Rune of Punishment. Lye had been taking care of his Knight, who had fallen early from a Thunder Rune strike, and was behind the Knight-Champion. The Knight-Champion loosed the Rune with almost no aim what so ever, causing a wide area of destruction. This wiped out the large enemy force, but also took its toll on the friendly side too. A whole part of the city was destroyed, and the Vaeven Knights were killed, including the Knight-Champion who used the rune. Lye had been the only survivor of that attack, or so he thought. As he raised his head, looking on at all the destruction, he saw, in the distance, Emperor Sratus standing there, perfectly untouched. The Emperor then turned and left the carnage, not wanted to see Yaeven reinforcements show up. Once the shock wore off, Lye fled and ran home, overcome with sickness and fear, he collasped two steps in the door. When he awoke, his parents sat over his bed, and explained what all the could to him. He had been out for almost a week, and during that week they had discovered that he bore the Rune of Punishment on his left hand now. A Yaeven General had come by, reporting death tolls and warning people about a dangerous True Rune that had to be returned to the Yaeven Army, no matter what cost is endured from it. Lye's parents became worried about him, and the danger he now was to himself. Since it was currently considered he had died during the attack, his parents snuck him out of the city with plenty of supplies and a clear path to his grandparents cottage. As he marched along the road, he was picked up by a travelling caravan, who offered to give him a ride. As they travelled, they travellers told him many stories about the world, and about the runes and where they come from. When they started to talk about the True Runes, he found out the true extent of the Rune of Punishment. It had tremendous power, but would slowly eat away at the bearer until they died. After these horrible stories, Lye made a decision. When the travellers dropped him off, he set off in a random direction, neither going home or to his grandparents. He decided that it would be safer for everyone if he lived alone, travelling by himself and moving all the time so no one could find him. Over the years that followed, he also gained the Sunbeam Rune, since he didn't have access to normal medical treatments in his travels, and the Gale Rune, to make his travels faster. He became quite skilled with his sword, and became a fine warrior, but he had lost touch with society for so long that he became awkward in the presence of others, so he almost never goes into any settlement, except for supplies, and in those situations, he goes in the evening, when it gets dark. Runes: Right Hand: Gale Rune (x2 speed) ForeHead: Sunbeam Rune (Heal while in Sunlight) Left Hand: Punishment Rune (True Rune) |
