I had planned to do this myself, but it seems that I'm going to be busy elsewhere. As an incentive, the person I choose to write the guide will recieve a 3 digit alpha account with a one year upgrade on it. They may also recieve pre-alpha access to the site. Obviously, if you're interested in this, there are some requirements. 1) You must have excellent spelling and grammar. 2) You must have a good grasp of English Spelling (colour not color, etc) 3) You must have a clear and understandable writing style 4) You must be able to work to and keep to set deadlines. If you think you meet all of these requirements, please post below, or send me a message

I think I'll try for this position... I've written a few tutorials and help guides before. And I'm a spelling freak. My auto spell check is set for Brit English. I suppose I can write with clear meaning. And this would most probably help me in the future when it comes to deadlines xD Although, you'll have to give me some time cause of real life |

Ok, one other person is interested, but I'm waiting to hear back from them. Meanwhile, to apply for the position, please post a minimum 500 word help guide to a sim game of your choice |

I might give this a go after my exams finish on Friday afternoon, but I'd like to play the game a bit before attempting anything xD That is, if you still need someone to do this in the first place? |

Okey Dokey, I'll edit this at somepoint with my sample guide ![]() EDIT: This is a guide I wrote for another sim game a while ago and if you want to see it in it's original form just go here, http://www.chocochick.co.uk/fourhooves/ , and click members area and then newbie guide. - - - 756 words total Newbie Guide By Ciara Hey there, and welcome to Four Hooves! I'm pleased to see that more people are playing the game. As I'm writing this, 4H has been open for only a few weeks, so I hope that you'll take some time to read this guide and get to know more about how the game works. So, you've signed up and gotten your username and password for the boards. You've read the rules on both the forum and the main site. (If not, you should! It's very important that all members know, and play by the rules, and they also contain some info on how the game works, so get over there!) Now what? Well that's why I'm here to help! NOTE: This is my advice on how to play, not a step by step walkthrough on exactly what you must do. 1. Horses Every new member is allowed to "Create" no more than three horses for their account, so I recommend creating all these horses when you first begin. You don't have to, you can even spread out how many horses you create through months or years if you like, but it gives you a good start. Go ahead and create two mares, and one stallion to begin with. Go to the members area of the main site, click on the horse registry and fill out the form. Don't send it yet though! 2. Boarding When you create your horses, you will be asked where you want to board them. You should take a look in the members area again, at the "barns" section. There, you will find a list of all the boarding barns available. Take a look through them and find a good deal. Do you get discounts for anything? Once you've done that you can send off your form and start playing! Note that later in the game you may create your own barn, but this is costly, and I don't recommend it until you've played for a while. 3. Shows Now you've got your horses you should train them up and get experience by entering shows. So head on over to the message boards! In the Game Play section, look down to the sixth board and click on it. There should be a list of posts. Click one of them and read the first post. (This is the most important one as it tells you all you need to know about that show) Decide what classes you'd like to enter your horse in, fill in the form to enter, and send it off. That's it! You've just entered your first show! Feel free to enter some more while you wait for the results, and watch the points pile up. 4. Breeding Now that your horses have some points to their names, you may decide you'd like another little critter to join them. But how do you get one? The forum has a for sale/wanted board that members selling horses can post on. It well worth having a look here to see if you can pick up any bargains. You can't create more horses now, so you have to breed. The trick to breeding a great horse however, is points. When you breed two horses, 7.5% of their points combined are passed onto the foal. This means that the higher their points, the better the foal starts off. (Because of this I encourage you to work out how many points the foal will be born with and decide whether or not it is worth waiting to breed these two horses) On the main site go to the members area and click on the horse registry. If you scroll down past the horse creation form, you will find a breeding form. Fill this in according to the two horses you want to breed, and send it off to Lydia. It may take some time for her to process your request, so try to be patient. She will email you with all the foals stats,(colour, height, points etc) and you can choose its Name and age providing its young than its youngest parent. However if you want to keep the foal at 0 years old after its born (just encase you want to breed a load of foals and grow them up at once), just email Lydia when you want it to age. So there you go. You now know all you need to know to be a great 4H player! If you have any questions feel free to contact either Lydia or Ciara on the message boards, or email wickedgirl_4@yahoo.co.uk or r.andom@live.co.uk. Good Luck, and have fun!
