Because that would ruin the surprise. But enough for you to see where SD is headed. In SD you own and run a rescue kennel. Your objective, among others, is to train and rehabilitate the dogs you rescue, and untimately rehome them. Each dog you rehome will earn you reputation points, and of course SDP (Stray Days Pounds) with which to buy more dogs and items. Its simply not practical for one person to care for 20 dogs in one day, so you will have to hire staff - be they volunteers who work for free, or experienced kennel staff who will require paying. Dogs who reach a higher level of trust and training will be able to enter in sporting shows - Agility, Flyball, Obedience and Heelwork To Music. There will be 10 sections, half of which must be completed to 50% before the dog can be rehomed, but completing more training will earn you more reputation and money. A feature I hope to add to the game some time after completing alpha (or possibly during) is that a fully trained dog can then go on to do further training - to become a police dog, guide dog, search and rescue dog, military dog, etc. The training and rehabilitation is done through attending training classes. Basics can enter a dog in 2 training classes per day; Wardens may enter 3. Each dog will have 11 stats. Of these, 5 will be improvable stats (Obedience, Patience, Focus, Logic, Desire to Please), 5 will be personality stats (Aggression, Sociable, Excitable, Work Drive, Intelligence) which will be fixed at birth, and Trust, which will play an important part of the game, and can only be altered by spending time with the dog. The 5 improvable stats can be increased by playing with the dogs using toys. Unlike other games, food will not increase stats, but is required to keep your dogs alive. You will also be reqiured to clean your dogs' kennel daily, to ensure they remain healthy. All of which brings me neatly to the next point. Dogs in SD, like in real life, can die. They will not die of old age, but can die of neglect, starvation, and euthanasia. I hope to include more in depth genetics in the near future, including genetic diseases, and susceptability to illness. As a new and upcoming sim, there will be many new features added to SD over the coming months, and I look forward to adding new and exciting features for everyone to enjoy.
