Name: Kasumi [Full Name: Kasumi Aiko Jonouchi] Age: 20 Star: Chikyu Hometown: Rokkaku Occupation: Ninja, Diplomat Weapon: Claw; Max Sakura Runes: Head: (sealed) Right Hand: Shrike Rune Left Hand: ----- Class and MP Tier: Battle Artist (MP: 7/4/3/1) Character Description: Kasumi is of average height, standing at 5'4", with a slim, athletic build that lends itself very well to her profession. Her limbs are roped with lean muscle and she is built for speed and agility, traits necessary for ninjas to possess. She keeps her black hair cut short and it is often fairly unkempt, as she is extremely active and doesn't especially care about grooming or vanity. Her clothes are light and easy to move in -- a red tunic that stops at about mid-thigh with a matching pair of shorts underneath, cinched at the waist with a leather belt. She wears a green shirt beneath the tunic and matching leggings that stop beneath the knee, as well as a pair of leather sandals. Leather bracers and a shockingly un-subtle pink scarf complete her ensemble. Biography: A dyed-in-the-wool ninja with a strong sense of wanderlust, Kasumi was born and raised in Rokkaku, where she spent the majority of her childhood years training with others her age. She was always an exceptional student, though her excitable nature had a habit of slowing her down from time to time, causing her to make mistakes in her haste. As she grew older, she learned to calm and center herself (for the most part) and came out on top of her class. She has been a full-fledged ninja for years now, though the elder has assured her that there is always more to learn. Her young life, otherwise, has been fairly uneventful. Since things have been quiet on the homefront lately, she has taken to wandering, looking for some way to put her skills to good use. Personality: Friendly, bold and outgoing, Kasumi is an energetic young woman by most standards. While she is personable, she is not naive, having a good head on her shoulders and the good sense to be cautious until a person is proven trustworthy. She is a decent strategist in a pinch thanks to her training, though due to her occupation, most of her strategies are only built to direct "me, myself and I." She can work well with a group given some time; personality is rarely an issue so much as she is used to being a solitary fighter and needs a little time to adjust to new battle tactics now and then. She is both honest and trustworthy, a good ally for those seeking her assistance. RP Sample: (Recyled, I admit it!) Lovely. The weather hadn't been anywhere near this poor when Kasumi had left Kuskus. It had been sunny, moderately warm... it had seemed like ideal weather for sailing. Under those conditions, she had expected to reach Lakewest before dark. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. One short hour after she had rented her shoebox of a boat and pushed off from Kuskus, the weather had turned sour, and Kasumi found herself and her poor little boat falling prey to wind and a healthy dose of rain. She supposed the weather could have been much worse -- there could have been an all-out storm -- but sailing in the rain without cover was not only uncomfortable: it was dangerous, no matter how heavy the rain may or may not be. She sneezed as she ran her hand through her wet hair, soaked to the bone and trying to keep the wet locks of hair from falling in front of her eyes. It was hard enough to see through the wind and rain without her hair getting in the way. She grunted softly as she got to her feet, grabbing hold of the fishing boat's slim, single mast to steady herself, shielding her eyes with the other hand and squinting as she struggled to see what lay ahead. Water. Nothing but water. She knew she couldn't be that far from Lakewest -- Lake Dunan itself, after all, could be crossed in half a day if you put your mind to it -- but there were no signs of civilization as far as the eye could see. Not that that was saying much. Visibility was quickly getting worse and worse. Kasumi shivered as the rain continued to beat down against her head and back. What had started out as moderate rain was progressing towards a downpour. She needed to find land, and quickly. Luckily, she had been sailing fairly close to the shoreline and land wouldn't be too far off. The problem now was finding some place to take cover and hide the boat until the weather cleared up. A place to sleep would have been nice, too. It didn't have to be fancy, it didn't even have to be something so civilized as an inn -- but something dry would have been nice. Deciding to head for shore and move on from there, Kasumi sat down again, letting down the sails on the way. The wind was picking up, and keeping the sails out could prove to be even more problematic. Bracing her feet against the sides of the small boat to steady herself, she grabbed hold of the oars she had stashed beneath the narrow bench seats and mounted them into their proper positions. Putting all of her muscle into working the oars, she slowly began to turn and head towards the distant shoreline. The wind was working against her, but with the sails down, it was a much easier trip than it could have been initially. As she drew closer to land, she could see more through the wind and water, and what she did see puzzled her greatly. Just above the water she could make out what looked like a small cave housing an inlet, which seemed to be as good a place as any to act as a makeshift dock. It would protect her from the rain, at any rate. It was what lay just beyond the cave that confused her. Whatever stood behind it was masked by a tall column of swirling grey and purple, some sort of vortex that hid any possible refuge from view. "What the...?" She was closing in fast now, and the smokey vortex was almost directly overhead as she pulled into the small inlet. Just as she had suspected, most of what lay beyond the entrance of the cave was dry, and it didn't take much for her to run her tiny boat aground. Climbing out onto what she thought would be some combination of stone and sand, she was surprised to find her footing to be much firmer than that. Leaving her boat behind for the time being, she took a few steps forward and let her eyes begin to adjust to the dim light. What she found almost surprised her more than what she'd seen outside. She'd been expecting rock walls and coarse sand, not... "Docks?" Edited by Kasumi, Sat Jul 11, 2009 12:57 pm.
