Feeling like a Freak on a leash
|
It was about that time, wasn't it? The time of night where Toshi sends out his little pawn to do bidding. Tak had observed for some time, getting into the habit of life again. He'd gotten used to guns, electricity, everything, but getting back into the social swing would be a bit more difficult. Life had changed since he'd been around...slaves existed, Toshi ruled...everything was fucked in Tak's opinion. Since things were not as he envisioned, Tak was determined to make things different...that meant a lot of back stabbing and double crossing....oh well. He started with small game at first, he'd totally fucked up the slave trade for about a week, setting about 50 free...that was fun. Now he was targeting the big prey. Toshi was at the top of his list of course. Tak was not an idiot, he needed to knock out the base before attacking the top...that meant the slave. Kaya, such a young vampire. This should be interesting. A smirk grew on his lips as he saw the "boy" emerge from Toshi's residence. He was hidden by the crowd. As the boy walked, so did he...until there was a safe distance between them and Toshi, then he began walking next to the boy. "Going anywhere special Kaya?" He snickered, keeping his eyes off the other. |

Kaya had felt the eyes of someone on him for a short part of his walk before the watcher finally appeared. It wasn't so much that he knew the other was there, just the distinct paranoid feeling of being watched. He'd been feeling it off and on over the past few weeks growing increasingly jumpy because of it, which unfortunately for him had caused some mishaps with his master earlier on. Luckily for Kaya, he was a favourite and recieved nothing more than a sharp tongue lashing from the much older vampire and then sent to do some extra errands that he wouldn't normally have been chosen to go complete. He managed to not jump right out of his sking when the watcher had finally spoken to him, appearing at his side almost silently but it was a hard thing to accomplish. He was sure his nerves were showing by that point, as frayed as they were, but they were slowly calming down now that his stalker had finally shown himself. That meant he was not crazy for thinking he was being followed. Apparently the other had been at it for quite some time too, addressing him as he was. Kaya did not slow his pace nor even bothered to look at the other vampire beside him but instead opted to keep walking and completing what it was he was set out to do. "No where particularily special, no. Why do you ask sir? I don't recall asking for an escort." Kaya pushed a long ringlet behind his ear while he spoke, deciding to interlink his arm with the other vampire's and smiling sweetly at him, mostly for spectator's sake. It wouldn't due for Toshi's pawn to look as if he were in danger, now would it? He was very much aware however just how far he'd gotten from his master's protection causing him to be very wary of this newcomer. Edited by Kaya, Mar 25 2009, 11:38 PM.

Tak continued to stare forward as the other answered him. Yep, Kaya was definitely a boy...despite the appearance. Such strange times he's come back to. The arm looping around his arm was no cause for alarm, it would only make it less suspicious to talk to this one, Tak was already in deep for what he did at the slave market, then again no one knew who did it, other then those he freed. What were the odds they would snitch on him? Rather slim. He smirked when the boy was done. "Convienant, I don't recall being an escort." He mused, finally glancing to the other. This one seemed rather perceptive, he knew Tak was around...this may be a bit of a challenge. Tak loved challenges. "But you'd have to be going somewhere special." he was sure to ephasize the word, finding that the most entertaining part of word play. He was calm, like always...he never grew nervous, and never would. This may be one of Toshi's pawns, but it was on Tak's side of the chess board...what could that overrated leach do? |

Kaya laughed softly at his companion's response. Keeping up the pleasant amble they'd fallen into he patted the other's arm that was still interlinked with his own. "Why? Did you have any suggestions?" He reviewed his 'to do' list in his head trying to think if any of it would be of interest to this man. He had a few house calls to make to some of the nobles around the area but other than that it was just a few mundane errands to run. He couldn't think that any of it would be of interest to Tak. He growing increasingly curious, and nervous, about this one. Where had he come from? Kaya certainly hadn't seen him around before. Also where on earth was he going with this conversation? "Well sir, it seems a little unfair to me that you know my name and I don't know yours. Who is it that I'm sharing my company with this evening?" Edited by Kaya, Mar 26 2009, 01:05 PM.

"Unfair?" Tak snickered while looking forward, "What is the definition of that word exactly?" His smirk grew and he bowed his head to a few other vampires as he passed them by. He'd show them the respect the required...at least at the moment. He still looked so different then them. He looked like he had to work for what he had...like he worked a long day and now he was relaxing at night. Must have been all that time submersed in human life. He never regretted it, and never would. Despite this fact, is was more then obvious that he was one of the greater vampires, so rarely did he come upon someone who would openly challenge him. It was a relief in some ways, though incredibly dull in other ways. "And call me insanely curious...but I'd like to know why someone from such a nice house would leave it." He sighed, he needed to get out of this district before talking to much...he could feel other staring him could hear them saying his name. It was as if they saw a ghost or something |

Kaya rolled his eyes as the other didn't divulge the information he had asked for. He applauded the man for at least being polite both to himself and to the other vampires they passed. Well Kaya was still in one piece which was a good sign, but he still couldn't help but be wary of the other. "Even a bird in a cage of gold longs to stretch its wings. I just can't seem to stay cooped up inside." It was true. Kaya was indeed just that. He lived in a fine house, dressed in the best clothes, had everything he pretty much asked for... which wasn't much usually... but he was still Toshi's slave despite the fact he was a vampire. This fact was something most did not know about himself. If Kaya was offered the chance to roam about freely rather than sit at home all day behind those walls he would indeed take it. |

After the mansion was out of sight, Tak unlooped his arm from the others and began to walk backwards, his eyes staring right at the other. He scanned Kaya up and down, trying to scope him out closer. This should not be mistaken with checking the boy out....Tak saw no need for that.... He stopped suddenly, making sure to be standing in Kaya's path so he had to stop. "Even gold....a cage is a cage....and wouldn't the bird want to free?" he purred, knowing that feeling all too well. To be free...what a beautiful idea. Tak was certainly grateful his life was a cage less one, even if he wasn't free. "Tell me birdie." |

Kaya felt the other vampire slip out of his grasp but continued his pace while the other turned to watch him. It was a rather elegant move, one that Kaya admired greatly. Tak soon stopped moving however which of course caused Kaya to stop being able to move foward. He stood there looking the older in the eye for a minute before the silence was finally broken. Lowering his eyes to Tak's question he felt a sharp pain of sadness well up in his stomach. This was a conversation he should not be having. "I should go." Though he dutifully said the words his body did not listen to them. Instead he stood there rooted to the spot, his eyes downcast. |

"ooooOOOoo" Tak purred while staring down at Kaya. He knew exactly what he was doing, having done this so many times before. However, none looked this heartbroken. Placing two fingers under the boy's chin, Tak tilted his head so he could look in those eyes. "I struck a nerve, didn't i birdie?" He smirked. Kindness always eluded him, and even now he seemed very condescending, even though he was trying to make Kaya feel better. His smirk soon softened and his moved his hands back to his side, though continuing to look at the young vampire. "Come fly with me...if only for a little." |

Kaya felt a tightening in his chest. Who was this bastard!? How could he just walk up to Kaya and throw such temptation in his face. Didn't the other vampire know Toshi would find him and then what? It wouldn't be a swift death for the betrayal, that's for certain. Kaya stood there trembling as the idea of running flew through his mind. Who would protect him though? This one here? Kaya didn't even know if he could trust him, didn't even know his name! "How dare you?" Kaya seethed out between clentched teeth. "How dare you come up to me and suggest such a thing!?" But oh, how Kaya wanted to take him up on the offer. It took everything he had just to deny himself that little glimmer of freedom. "Do you even think for one instant that Toshi would let me go!? How dare you!?" He was shaking even more now, and not entirely from anger. Edited by Kaya, Apr 1 2009, 11:25 PM.
