So we all know Scout's original to the TV series. I was just wondering did anyone here use her in their fics, or would they consider it? I mean, thinking about it, she's more canon...ical (?) than all of our OFCs, but I don't think I've once seen her in the fandom. Am I blind, or is that true? I know there's a Scout series on there somewhere, but she's a Curtis sister in that, isn't she? Correct me if I'm wrong! So, is it because she's in the TV series that [no one] counts her?

Great question! I personally have never used Scout in any of my fics because ... well, I'm not too keen on the TV series, lol. But ... that still is an excellent question. As far as I'm aware, the only Scouts I've seen the fandom are Curtis sisters. Like you, I've yet to see a TV!Scout fic. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm no expert on the TV series, but her character seemed kinda like a battered!Sue to me. Seeing as the fandom doesn't take too kindly Sues, I would assume that is the reason most of us do not include her in our fics. She also seemed like a female Johnny replacement in a way, too, and naturally we overprotective authors couldn't have any of that!!! I think she could be considered Canon if you want to include the events of the TV series in your universe. I guess, I don't see why not. Some people who strictly adhere to the book might not like it, but oh well. It kinda comes down to what each individual author is going for in his or her universe, and I don't see anything wrong with including the TV series in your interpretation of the Canon.
