Okay, so I think it's safe to say that Dally can get pissed off a bit. Strictly speaking. I just have a question: Half opinion, half 'I-need-to-figure-this-out-it's-a-vital-piece-of-information'. What would piss him off the most? Like more than anything! I was thinking, a crack at his parents? Thoughts? |

That's tough. I think, maybe, a really personal comment would piss him off the most. But I don't know 'cus he also punches random guys all over the place. LOL. Gotta love Dally. |

Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man

I agree with a personal comment. I know that's extremely vague, but while Dally is one of the more drawn out characters of the book, there's still a LOT of room to play around with him. So it really depends on the situation, who's saying it (are the close to him?), and how he's feeling. |

Wow, this is a really, REALLY hard question to answer. I guess I'm leaning towards little insignificant things pissing him off the most. He's probably used to his dad knocking him around some, getting caught by the fuzz, etc., etc. ... Not to say that those things wouldn't piss him off, because I've no doubt they would. But I can foresee a couple different scenarios, like realizing someone bummed his last cigarette or a girl shrugging off his pick up lines, eliciting a make bigger reaction that you'd normally expect out of him. I mean, it'd be situational, and he'd have to be pissed off to begin with, but I could see something really small setting him way off. This just gave me a oneshot idea. Yayyy! |

This is definitely a hard question. I agree with what's been said, especially with it being situational. Everyone has their own Outsiders universe. In my universe, a crack at his mom ensures certain death. |

Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man

In my universe, she died during childbirth with him, and then his dad remarried this girl named Mary few years later. The only mother figure he knew was his stepmom, but after this whole embezzling scandal his dad got himself and his wife and a whole bunch of other people into, she disappeared from Dal's life. |

It's kind of messed up what happened to her. She was in his life up until he was fifteen. And one day, she got into it with Dallas's dad. He broke her neck and shoved her down the stairs. Then the dad started going out with this whore, and she comes and goes as she pleases. Dallas doesn't like her; she doesn't like Dallas. And that's that. Edited by aero, Jun 27 2010, 05:23 PM.

I really think the smaller things piss Dallas off most. Mostly because in the book it says he punched someone because he cut in front of him in the candy store, or something like that. I think that the bigger things like his family wouldn't bother him because in my universe he's blocked out his family situation and stopped letting it bother him. But I think what would piss him off most is things like Johnny getting beat up so bad he cried. In my world the maddest Dallas has ever gotten is when Mrs. Curtis dies because it mentions her convincing him not to do stupid shit. To me Mrs. Curtis was the replacement of the mom he never had. In my world Dallas' mom cares less about him then his dad does and isn't even in the picture and still lives in New York. She dies when he's fourteen of an overdose, but Dallas doesn't ever find out. |

Well I think I agree with aero. Certain death being the operative phrase, I think that's what I was going for (subconsciously of course)... I also thought that someone taking a crack at Johnny definitely! What I was looking for was something that would REALLY send him over the edge - capable of murder, I suppose. |
