Those are the canon greaser girls that were mentioned by Ponyboy; either by accident, or they came up when the boys were talking. I don't know about any of you, but I see Steve and Evie lasting a long time. Steve, to me, is a very loyal person, and Evie would have to have some sort of calming effect on him, in my opinion. I see her with brown hair. I dunno why, but when someone says she has blonde hair, it just bugs me. No idea why. Sylvia is obviously a tough chick, considering she's stuck with Dallas (for the most part). A lot of authors characterize her as being the horrible, slutty antagonist in the story. I think that Sylvia probably has a bad home life, which impacts the way she acts. She clearly isn't a very loyal person, considering she cheated on Dallas on several occasions (or was it just once? My book is MIA). I see her as a blonde, and with brown eyes. Sandy...oh, here we go. Instead of me ranting, and boring all of you, I'm just going to sum up how I feel about her. I LIKE Sandy. In fact, she's one of my favorite canon characters. Even by the small bit of information that we were given, she seems so real. She couldn't have been older then sixteen or seventeen, so she's just a confused teenager who doesn't know what she wants. Although I don't write her as much as I would like to, I enjoy seeing how others write her. She's definitely one of my favorite characters without a doubt. She's blonde, china blue eyes, so that's how I see her. Last, but certainly not least, Kathy. Kathy is really hard for me to picture as being Two-Bit's girlfriend. Jen (yes, our Jen ) has characterized her on several occasions. Kathy and Two-Bit are probably a very odd couple, but like Jen said herself, they were probably messier apart. Two-Bit, in my opinion, doesn't need a lot of balance, the very least from a girl. But Kathy would probably have a lot of good traits about her. Maybe I'm just going crazy and looking way too deep into her character, but she's always stricken me as a girl who has a lot of gut, but she doesn't show it. Unless, of course, it's absolutely necessary. So, how do you see our canon girls? What do they look like to you? Rant away below! |

Okay, this is going to be an epic post ha ha. First off, I totally agree with you on Steve and Evie. Steve strikes me as fiercely loyal. I think he'd be as loyal to Evie as he would Sodapop. And yes, she MUST BE BRUNETTE! No idea why, but it just seems to fit! Sylvia is still a mystery to me. I know she's tough and can take care of herself, if her dating Dallas Winston says anything. And I hate when people make her out to be all slutty. She isn't slutty. Yes, she cheated on Dally, but it wasn't like she was all over town with any guy. Like I said, she's still a mystery to me. Now, for Sandy, I have my opinions. I always imagined Sandy as this really petite, almost fragile looking girl with bright blue eyes and soft blonde hair and a really soft, gentle voice. If she's really like that, then I feel she balances Sodapop perfectly. She loved him, that much I know to be true. But she was sixteen! She was young and confused and, well, we all know teenagers make mistakes. Sandy's was just a big mistake. I think even after she left, she still loved Soda. Now, here's where I don't agree lol I always saw Kathy as Two-bit's girlfriend. Not because he needs a girl to balance him out, (let's face it, Two-bit is a character all by himself!) but just because, sometimes, he needs to forget... That sounds wrong... Okay, better explanation... I never pictured Two-bit being a hardcore drunk, and I like to think that part of the reason he sort of (key word:: SORT OF) lays off the alcohol is because he has Kathy. I mean, Two-bit doesn't exactly have the greatest life at home, what with his mom working odd hours at a bar and his dad not around. I think sometimes it all gets to him and he needs an outlet. Most of the time, its alcohol. But I like to believe that its also Kathy. Wow ^that's long! |

Let's go to the ma-a-all.

Despite what I write, I do like Evie ... I just happen to write Steve/OFC which doesn't help Evie's case, lol. I seem to be in the minority when it comes to Steve and Evie and I don't even know why. I don't know why I decided to go against them by writing Steve/OFC or why Steve and Evie don't do it for me, but I've just never been much of a fan. It might just be because I've never liked them much in anything I've read of the two of them together. But I do like Evie, I swearz. Sandy's kind of meh. I like her, but haven't given her a whole lot of thought. In my universe she cheated on Soda because she fell for another guy. She wasn't evil, she just fell in love with someone else while still caring for Soda, and made a bad choice of sleeping with that guy while still with Soda. I adore Sylvia, and I hate to use the term, but I reckon she was completely misunderstood. Sure, she cheated on Dal, but how many of you think Dal was faithful to her? Lol. Anyway, in what I've written she only ever went as far as dating and kissing other boys. She had a crappy home life, really loved Dallas, and she has a real tough time after Dallas dies. She doesn't cope well at all and hits bottom before someone awesome helps her out Despite all that crap, she gets her happy ending before anyone else - canon or non-canon - in my little world. It's not a secret how much I like Kathy. Unlike Jamie, I see Two-Bit needing some balance. He's a funny guy, you know? He needs a little seriousness every now and then, someone to keep him sane. And to me, that's Kathy. She knows when to be sarcastic, a smart-ass, and serious and it all works perfectly in sync with Two-Bit. She gets him. She's the yin to his yang, baby

LMFAO. Well, perhaps it's not too late to change my mind. Kathy does do wonders for him. . .in your little universe, anyways.

The Annihilator

Hokay, so, I've been putting off posting in here simply because, well...I dunno. I'm lazy as shit. *smiles* But I have given our girls some thought. Sylvia: I love her. In my mind, she's not this stupid whore that everyone makes her out to be. She has a brain and knows when to use it, although she's often deprived of the opportunity to show people what she's really like. She's thin, and her hair color almost matches Dallas's, and her eyes are a really light blue. She also stands at around 5'7, since Dallas barely scrapes the 5'8 mark. Anyways, what Dallas sees as cheating isn't really cheating. It's honestly just her latching onto some guy until Dallas gets out of the cooler. She wouldn't ever sleep with anyone else because she believes in this little thing called love. However, she knows that Dallas could never love her the way she loves him. And with that being said, she's not this love-struck, doe-eyed teenager that thinks Dallas is her happily-ever-after or something. And she's definitely not soft. She's witty, and a smart ass, and she can throw a punch--she's thrown her fair share at Dallas and taken just as many. She also tends to try and avoid dramaz because she has a lot of other important things to deal with. Shit at home is rough, and she has a shit load of responsibilities that she'd deny if you ever asked her. Her personal life is personal. Evie: In my head, Evie is adorable with dark eyes, and dark hair, and darker skin. She's very tiny and pixie-like, and she looks amazing hanging off Steve's arm. Not only does she really honestly love Steve, but she's loyal and understanding, and she knows how to handle Steve's mood swings. Her family is blended. The dad remarried after the mom died, so Evie has a few step siblings as well as a biological older brother that she can never seem to see eye-to-eye with. Sunday nights consist of actual sit-down dinners with the family. There's always some sort of argument between the kids, but there's no major rifts caused. Because she's had a fairly smooth upbringing, her outlook on life isn't horribly jaded. She's a fairly sweet girl, but she can still give it as good as she gets. Sometimes better. There's definitely an edge to her that really turns Steve on, and people are drawn to her because she's very charismatic. Sandy: Least favorite girl in the book. I really have no thoughts on her because I see her as a flat, static character who'll probably go on to be a housewife or something dull. Kathy: Bombshell box blonde with curves and the most innocent looking brown eyes anyone's ever seen. She can be a little ditzy, but she certainly keeps Two-Bit on his toes. There is no such thing as a private life when it comes to her. She knows all the gossip and doesn't really see the problem with spreading it around. But she does it in a way that isn't catty or heinous. It's honest, same as her because she couldn't tell a lie to save her life. Superstition is her one quirk. Black cats, walking under ladders, salt over the shoulder, breaking mirrors--all those things mean something to her. It's one thing she shares with her dad, whom she lives with in an apartment in a rougher area. She also has a little brother, Benny, who looks like her but with dark hair, and an older brother who's part of the River Kings. But he lives with a friend. Or...twenty. When it comes down to it, she's pretty basic. She just wants to have a good time, she has a lot of friends, and she doesn't set herself any limits. Good things come to those who wait. Live and let live. It's easy to see why Two-Bit likes her so much. Edited by aero, Mar 29 2010, 07:04 AM.

Going in order helps for me, so in the order that you asked: Sandy is, as Pony said, a natural blonde with blue eyes. She's pretty in a very traditional sense of the word, someone who's nice to look at but who lacks distinctive features. And while she isn't the lying, cheating whore she's often portrayed as, she's no saint. She cheated on Soda because she was attracted to another boy but didn't want to lose Soda. She slept with the boy once and it (obviously) backfired on her. She's a nice girl, but she made a mistake and she's paying for it. Evie is a small brunette -- no taller than five foot four -- with dark hair and eyes and olive skin -- her looks could be described as dark Irish. Her hair is bobbed and cut to her chin, and she has small, sharp features. She wears her nails long and paints them red. She's something of a spitfire, and she and Steve argue a lot for no reason other than that they're nearly identical in personality. She's territorial when it comes to her boyfriend and fiercely loyal to her friends. Despite their arguing, Steve's and her relationship is a stabilizing force in both of their lives. Sylvia is tall and proud with curves in all the right places (for want of a non-cliché way of putting it). She's gorgeous and knows it: long, curly blond hair, bright blue eyes, and a porcelain complexion. She has a way of walking that would make people look at her even if her looks didn't and is considered something of a hellcat. She's a greaser girl through and through, and she gives as good as she gets when she and Dallas fight (which is often). She runs around with other boys, but, as some of y'all have said, she doesn't sleep around. She loved Dallas, even though she knew he didn't love her back, and it takes her a long time to get over him. But she's had a tough life, and it's made her a tough girl. She'll be fine. Kathy is a sweet, bubbly bottle blonde with green eyes and Irish freckles. She curls and teases her hair like a lot of other girls, but she'd look good however she wore it. She's funny and sharp enough to keep up with Two-Bit and has a knack for balancing him out when he gets too goofy. They only date off and on for a few months, but she cares about him and they get along well even after they break up for good. She's a bit of a gossip, but she's not the type to start rumors and is as sweet as they come for the most part. Edited by Erin, Mar 29 2010, 06:17 PM.

I'm kind of on the fece about Sandy. Sometimes I don't like her, sometimes I do. I kind of picture as ditzy, but nice enough. She's petite with blonde hair, blue eyes, blah blah blah. She likes having a good time. Once, she had too good of a time and now she's pregnant. Then again, I kind of want the baby to be Soda's and her parents made her lie to him becasue they didn't like him. I'm a huge Evie fan. She's a tiny girl with big curls and brown eyes. She's opininated, but knows when to talk and when not to. She can have a bit of a temper. Her and Steve argue, mostly about nothing, but at the ed of the day they do love eachother. I picture her and Steve lasting a long time too. I, too, picture Sylvia as tall with curves. Her hair is dirty blonde and big. She has green eyes. She's pretty and she knows it. She's overly confident and cocky. She has a quick wit and sarcastic. She can be a bitch at times. Her and Dallas are very much alike. They fight, they cheat, they make up. Rinse and repeat. But she does love Dally and she didn't sleep around when she was with Dallas. Her life has been rough. Kathy's fun. She's a curvy blonde with light green eyes. She talks a lot and loves to laugh. She and Two-Bit have a good time and she really likes him. She has an older brother and a little sister. Her parents live together, but don't have the best realtionship. She doesn't get along with her dad much. She wants to fall in love, get married and stay in love. She has low self esteem and she's unconfident. She wants perfection in all areas of her life. She doesn't like crying in front of people or showing much emotion. She puts on a front with jokes and laughter. She's likeable. Edited by Megan, Mar 29 2010, 06:50 PM.
