Appearance: Not overly short or tall, of average build and appearance Samara doesn’t consider herself overtly attractive, more of a quiet bookish cute with dark brown hair and chocolate/ gold flecked almond shaped eyes; she has wild fly away hair that does what it wants and freckles. She can usually be seen wearing Jeans and a shirt or a variation there of, long pants and a shirt or the Typical Atlantis Uniform which suits her clothing preference to perfection. Once referred to as “Not your typical Aussie beauty” Samara usually keeps her hair in a plait or braid and hides her dark eyes behind blue tinted glasses.

Weapons: Trained in hand to hand combat Samara has a Cho dan Bo or Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and can hold her own against opponents twice her size and weight. Not comfortable with fire arms she keeps her Kali sticks with her, even in Atlantis and has two very impressive knives hidden on her at all times, just in case .

History: Samara grew up in a small city on the east Coast of Queensland Australia; resigned to spending her life in her small town she had dreams of traveling the world, seeing new places, meeting new people, learning new things. Her one true goal, decided when she was only three, was to be an Archaeologist, to study the past, to learn about old, ancient forgotten cultures, to understand them and perhaps discover their mysteries. To unravel the past and still be entranced by it was Samara’s only desire and after finishing her high school years she left her small city for the bigger cities of the south, Melbourne. Spending six years studying Archaeology and linguistics, Anthropology and Mythology became obvious choices for her next line of study and after her first year with exceptional grades her professors encouraged her to take on more of a course load. With three degrees under her belt and considerable ability in all her areas of study she was asked by her Government if she would be interested in working on a project with Several American counterparts and she happily agreed not realizing what she was stepping into. Two years studying off world sites was a little more then Samara had ever expected and she loved every minute of it. The constant threat of attack by Jaffa or worse didn’t really enter her mind, only the thrill of discovery and exploring the universe. After the change of command within the SG1 Samara was transferred by request of Dr Weir to the Ancient outpost in Antarctica and was one of the first recruited for the Atlantis Expedition, she has spent all her time since then Cataloguing ancient artifacts, technology, translating text and deciphering documents.

Writing Sample:

Samara sat hunched over a computer terminal her fingers flying over the keyboard as she worked well into the night, her wrists had cramped hours ago but she forced her hands to continue there work, her fingers clicked and cracked occasionally and the tapping of keys was almost constant, if she ever took a break of more then twenty seconds it wasn’t distinguishable from the sound of clicking and typing. She had been working on translating a singular document for Dr Weir for most of the night and it was well into the AM now, Three AM to be exact. Dr Weir had asked Samara to translate the document and have a translation for her by the end of the week, it wasn’t urgent but something in it had caught the Doctors eye and she wanted to read it more thoroughly if she got the chance. She hadn’t been very specific about when she wanted the Document, just within the next week would have been fine with her but Samara had become to intent on her work, once she started something she rarely stopped or slowed down, only to refill her coffee mug and maybe grab a power bar to keep her sugar levels up. Her dark eyes were hidden behind her tinted glasses and her eyes sped across the screen as she watched the words appear as she typed, her skills with a keyboard were unmatched by any one in her department, maybe Dr Mackay could match her for Words per minute but they had never put it to the test.
