Though she's not the one who signs treaties, she has brokered a dozen of the most sensitive international accords in modern history. She has two Ph.D.s, taught political science at Georgetown University, has served in embassies all over the world and speaks five languages. Though she began her career as a political activist lobbying against government spending on the military, she later decided the best way to stop weapons proliferation was to end the need for them. Placed in charge of Stargate Command by President Henry Hayes, she has now been asked to command the Stargate Atlantis team.

Appearance: Tall, slim and attractive, Elizabeth has a grace and elegance few can match, her vocal and facial expressions are all well honed tools to be used in debates with Ambassadors, Chancellors or even her own team members on Atlantis. Her Hazel/brown eyes are always focused and intense, her bright smile and raised eyebrow are key indicators of her mood. When on Atlantis she prefers to wear the standard issue uniform of the city, dark red shirt, black or blue pants and jacket. On rare occasions when she does wear something more civilian it’s usually something with long sleeves and jeans or dark pants to match.

Weapons: Elizabeth is a pacifist by nature and by choice; she dislikes the use of weapons and has sworn to never use one herself.

History: Elizabeth has spent her entire career fighting government spending on the military, she later decided the best way to stop weapons proliferation was to end the need for them. She has travelled the world working in embassies in dozens of countries. She has two Ph.Ds and taught political science at Georgetown university. Her diplomatic skills were put to the test when she was placed in charge of the SGC for a short time replacing General Hammond, not only did she have to contend with the internal politics of the SGC and Vice President Kinsey but a threat from the Gou’ald Anubis, as well as brokering a deal with the Gou’ald System Lords who tried to double cross her and bluff their way through the negotiations. Handing the SGC over to Gen. Jack O’niell she was placed in charge of the Antartic international research station to over see the co-operation of a dozen different nations. After almost a year at the research outpost she was placed in command of the newly formed Atlantis Expedition who travelled to the Pegasus Galaxy to find the lost city of Atlantis. Since that time she has been in charge of the expedition and its teams of explorers.

Writing Sample:
Elizabeth’s lower back was aching and no matter how she sat in her chair there was a dull constant throbbing right above her tail bone that just wouldn’t go away, sitting for more then two hours in the conference room with a team of scientists fresh back from an expedition through the gate was not exactly invigorating, she was constantly reminding herself of the dozen or so reports she still had to read and file and more were piling up as she sat here.

She opened her eyes wide and blinked a dozen times as she tried to keep her focus on the team member who was speaking, she had been in diplomatic briefings which were more invigorating and interesting then this, though she seemed to be giving the young scientist her full and undivided attention, she was suddenly finding herself wishing Rodney had gone on their mission, he at least could talk at a million miles an hour and while she might have only caught one or two key sentences she still would have been out of here an hour or more ago.
