Our of Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Radiata Stories and the coming Infinite Undiscovery, which of them do you believe is the best series for tri-Ace? Vote and discuss your thoughts on all the tri-Ace series here. |

Radiata Stories for the win. Actually, I think if I had bought, and not rented, Star Ocean 3, I would have liked it better, though. The battle system was definitely ten times better. Beyond that, the characters were also good (<3 Nel & Cliff) and the mini-games were...interesting... |

I have only played 1 out of the 4 series by tri-Ace, so I'll just say Valkyrie Profile for now. =P It's the only game by tri-Ace I've played actually, and I am currently put off by the difficulty of the game. On the positive side, I just love the sound effects used in this game, the soundtracks are very epic. The graphics match the quality of FF's, perhaps slightly even better, cutscenes + storyline are both interesting and nice views as well. It's the perfect game for those expert RPG gamers out there. =D |

Yeah, one thing tri-Ace games always excel in is excellent Musical Scores thanks to the genius of Motoi Sakuraba and gain the expertise of Square-Enix's power to make the games look beautiful. I find the combination one of the best going around, too bad they don't get spoke of as much as Square-Enix themselves however, they need to support their 3rd party providers more... >.> Anyway, for me it's quite tough to decide between Valkyrie Profile & Star Ocean. Both are quite epic RPGs with excellent gameplay. Although I think I might lean to Valkyrie Profile actually, purely for the more unique storyline on offer. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth - Playing as the battle maiden searching for the souls of the recent dead to become Einherjar to train and ultimately send to her master Odin. Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria - Silmeria somewhat hiding/intertwined with the young princess Alicia who is leading a rebellion against the gods. Who also during the way is materialising her Einherjar back to life, rather then sending them to lord Odin. Damn, the basic plot in those games is just made of win, North Mythology is converted excellently in these games, and then both stories are so contrasting as well. Add that to some epic FMV’s, great musical score, challenging dungeons & battles and great gameplay it’s hard to look past! Heh, after posting that I just convinced myself to go with Valkyrie Profile. |

Wow, no votes for Star Ocean so far? ![]() I ended up voting Valkyrie Profile as I said above, it's a more unique style of RPG and something I really appreciate. Both Lenneth & Silmeria are very unique and different RPGs with a really clever action/turn based battle system clash. Star Ocean comes a very close second though, and after Last Hope it will probably surpass it in my books. After playing Infinite Undiscovery though I'd have to see it is not far behind Star Ocean either. It's great to see something completely different from tri-Ace, they haven't done a bad job here at all. I doubt it will be a series we will see more of though. 1) Valkyrie Profile series 2) Star Ocean series 3) Infinite Undiscovery *Never played Radiata Stories. |

Star Ocean is my favourite gaming series of all time. I need no further proof than the god of all RPGs a.k.a. Second Story to help me vote this way. The game is the top for RPGs, period. If a game doesn't come near that bar for me, it is hardly worth playing at all. So I'm the proud first voter of Star Ocean series. I'll continue to support it even if it dies out and not a single one made again (in which by then I'd be rich enough to buy it out and own it, hopefully). Star Ocean FOREVER! |

I could have sworn I'd already voted/posted in this Star Ocean hands down!!! Gameplay, story, presentation, everything about it is ace. Of course, the fact that I haven't played any of the others slightly influenced my decision.
