What was yours? I haven't er...actually finished yet. But my final party is probably going to be Claude, Rena, Celine and Ashton although I think I am vaguely grooming Chisato for replacing Ashton.

Easy wins have never been my style
1) Claude: He is by far the best to use in the game imo. He can spam Ripper Blast with his best weapon and pwn everything.
2) Chisato: I find her to be an excellent melee support character, Tear Gas, among others I found rather effective.
3) Rena: Gotta have the healer around, always high on my list of important character types in RPGs.
4) Celine: I think she is the best mage in the game (at least best looking xD). She has many times been the difference in battle, in two tough battles she was the last woman standing and the reason I got through, go sexy Celine.

In SO, mages are useless. The only mage that can be considered decent is Rena because of here healing and she can fight.

Claude
Opera/Ashton
Chisato
Rena/Bowman/Precis

Those are pretty much the best characters in the game.

I thought the mages were pretty useful throughout the game for their long range damage. That being said, however, I won with no mages in my party apart from Rena :P

At first I had Claude, Rena, Celine, Ashton
Then Claude, Rena, Leon, Ashton
Then Claude, Rena, Leon, Chisato
And the party with which I won was Claude, Rena, Chisato, Ashton

I can't believe you can take the limiter off of this guy [Indalecio]! :scream:

Well the mages can be useful. For example in football, most of the players can be productive and do positve things. But there are certain players that do much much more. And those characters are the ones I stated above. Mages can do damage, but can't shell out fast damage. Fighters can hit for thousands multiple tiems. And Claude can heal himself. Opera can heal the party quicker than Rena.

That is true, but for argument's sake mages are helpful in supporting the fighters. Offensive magic can stop an enemy attack/spell and healing magic will keep the fighters alive to concentrate on actually fighting. You could be doing damage in those precious seconds when your fighters are healing instead of attacking. In this way it is good to have a well balanced party.

I do not recall every combination I have used, but my first, and best, team to use was Ashton, Precis, Chisato, Rena.

Ashton and Precis duo are pretty much the going trend for my team set-ups.

Claude x Rena
Here's who I ended up with

Claude Rena Bowman and Chisato

Claude - Favorite character. Have to have him. Ripper Blast (Rock Explosion)
Rena - Second Favorite character. Have to have her
Bowman - Poison Pills (Pellets) and Explosion Pills (Inferno Pellets)
Chisato - Tear Gas

PS I beat the game playing as Bowman lol

Extras: "Ashton, Leon, Celine and Noel"

I personally didn't like tear gas all that much. I can't remember all that clearly but it might have been that it took too long or that it had a high MP cost...anyway, didn't use it much so I'm not sure. I much preferred Twister.

Leon: Best character in the game. Love the kid. I always have to have him.
Claude: Great attacks; very strong.
Opera: Best healer; Tracking Plasma and Hyperlauncher.
Chisato: Tears Gas owns everything.

Are you high!?
Well, throughout the game, I mixed the party up to try different things, sometimes even challenge myself! I took out the two Guardians with just Claude, Bowman, Opera, and Chisato. But for the final battle, I used:

Claude - C'mon... Rock Explosion... Mirror Blade... Helmetbreak... He's such a useful fighter. Probably my most important character. He has NEVER been removed from a fight, except when I leveled other characters.
Rena - Despite Fate's dislike of her, I really like Rena. She's one of the best mages in the game, and, unlike Celine, she can hit pretty hard, too. Rena's Faerie Light, Raise Dead, and Condition Cure really help things out... especially when the game leaps in difficulty towards the end.
Opera - I just can't stop using her! ^^ "Bring it down!" is just SO effective. I swapped Healing Star for Hyperlauncher, because I figured we should have twice the kickass power! Ah, I'll miss her in my next playthrough...
Chisato - Another favorite character. Her Tear Gas is, of course, among the better moves you'll find here. Gale Somersault and Rising Dragon are great contenders, though! And she's just such a great character, how could I NOT have her in the final party?

Nibelung something or other!
the first time i beat it i used;
Claude - Head Splitter + Mirrior Slice
Precis - she weighed me down so idk what KMs i used for her
Opera - alpha on one (OWNS)
Rena - healing only

after that my combinations were
Rena, Claude, Dias, Opera (love playing as Dias, air slash+chaos sword)
Claude, Rena, Bowman, Chisato
Rena, Claude, Dias, Ashton
Claude, Ashton, Welch, Rena (second evolution)

I tend to use Claude, Ashton, Rena and Presis for my final party, or a combo with Opera and Ernest if it was a save I got those in (Second Story).

Where's my damn coffee?

Old thread is old. Oh well, gotta find something to post in. Final party was Claude, Rena, Celine, and Chisato. Don't think there was a lot of strategy involved in that choice, either; I used Claude, Rena, and Celine for pretty much the entire game with some other random character. Not sure why Chisato beat out whoever I was using at the end there. Maybe I was like "Anime girls.... yiy!" There were probably more strategic choices, but I was probably like "EFF THAT, I LIKE THESE ONES!!" Anyhoo...

Well Mine is Noel, Dias, Precis, Chisato
I know this is a random party but I love these characters. Chisato for Tear Gas, Dias for Illusion (gains more attacks the more its use) Precis for just her Skills and Noel for Healing and Symbology.

When I beat TSS, I think I had Claude, Rena, Ashton, and (I think) Dias. Been a while so I don't remember totally. I also did NOT do the power unlock so he was just regular impossible instead of extra impossible!
