Any of you guys played this?

I've started this recently and my first impressions and pretty good (better then first impressions in Infinite Undiscovery...)

I'm pretty impressed with the Battle System so far as well, it features what I guess you could call an "Active turn based" system. You wait turns, and during your turn you can perform actions for a certain period of time - which pauses if you stand still (alike Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria)

Good news for PS3 owners is that it will get an enhanced version of the game later this month as well.

*Bump*

I've finished this game twice since I started this topic, surely some others have played it haven't they?

It's an excellent RPG, probably the best RPG I've played on Xbox 360 so far as well actually. The Battle System is simply genius, and the story while it looks light and beautiful, has a much darker undertone too it. Quite an enjoyable game, scenes with Beat & Salsa just give it that element of fun as well

I love Eternal Sonata, it's just beautiful. But it was WAY too easy and WAYWAYWAY too short. It has such an interesting plot! And a cool battle system. And amazing graphics. And great characters... except Polka, I don't like her very much, I don't know why.

Polka didn't appeal to me a whole lot either really, she is a bit...depressing. Mind you I guess you can't blame her given her situation.

For characters to use I had Allegretto, Frederick, Beat & Viola most of the time. For laughs though nothing beats Salsa!

I agree it was a bit short too, you could easily knock it over in under 30 hours.

I had Allegretto, Viola and Beat first, then I replaced Beat with March because she can build up echoes very fast.

The PS3 version seems to be a bit longer. I read that they'll add 8-10 hours. And there were rumours that they'll release that version on the Xbox too, but I can't really find evidence for it.

Hmm that would be interesting, a free download for it off Xbox Live would be nice (yet quite unlikely)

I'd love to be able to use Crescendo...

I ordered the game last week and it came today. Even though I'm only about three hours in, I am greatly enjoying the game. And I love the use of the light and dark in battle, not to mention the battle system itself. It's half tactical and have full-time, which is ingenious, in my opinion. My only complaint so far is not being able to look around and rotate the camera. I really want to see what the surrounding is like, and this make it even harder for the dungeons, which seem to be quite confusing. Fort Fermata took me an hour to get through; I didn't even see those stairs at first. I've heard from both Kyle and Fayt that the places were all like a maze, but I didn't think they'd be that confusing. Now I wonder how much of a labyrinth those later dungeons will be.

Awesome Fate, I love this game! Already you speak of the battle system highly, and I couldn't agree more. The light-dark system, and the hybrid nature of action and taking turns is one of the best I've played. Add in party levels to change it up a bit keeps it pretty fresh as well.

Fort Fermata, I struggled there a bit the first time as well, it's unnatural to have a dungeon like that so early dammit! :wtf:

The characters I use the most were fortunately packed into a group after the part right before the Simile Spring. But that led to a weak party for the pirate ship. << I got killed by Dolce so many times. Perhaps I should level up more.

And with that, I have beaten Eternal Sonata, and Mysterious Unison as well.

Now I'm getting ready for my second playthroug. I want that Silver Star! Anyway, it is such a great game. It's definitely on my list of favorite games now.

Oh, and my two favorite characters: Allegretto and Claves. <3 Also, I have found my favorite dungeon out of any RPG: the Xylophone Tower of the Shining Keys. That place is just amazing, not to mention beautiful.

I can beat Fate easily in anything!
I have the game but I just haven't had the chance to complete it. I keep getting drawn away but other titles and games that I buy!
I really would like to play it all the way through and when I get the chance I will. I like what Fate has said about it so it wouldn't hurt to abandon my other games to complete this anyway.

I enjoyed this game. It wasn't overly complicated, but good fun. I wasn't keen on the restrictions as you had to kind of follow a set path. I always like to roam about RPG worlds when I can.

The story idea was an interesting twist, basing it on composer Chopin. A nice art design and music too.

The ending though was a bit

I agree on the ending Edge, it was quite...strange indeed. The philosophical and ...odd element of it was really something else.

The more this get's spoken of, the more I want to replay it, but I have a backlog of games so it will have to wait/never happen.

I wasn't too fond of the ending, either, to be honest. And God, it was dreadfully long. What, thirty minutes? I did like the part where the characters imparted poetic words of wisdom, though. That was insightful.

On my Encore Mode, I just got Allegretto's Silver Star and Polka's Gold Moon. And wow, Retto deals so much damage with that; every hit is critical. Oo Hard to beat that. Though, I do wonder if there's any other way to get back to Elegy of the Moon from Baroque using the warp instead of going all the way through To Coda Ruins and Mt. Rock again. It takes far too long. =O

Also, Kyle and Fayt, I demand that you both put all other games on hold and continue playing and replay the game, respectively, with Claves in your parties. >=O

I do plan on replaying this eventually, but not yet. KH 358 2 days is ahead of it on my list of games to play.
