There was a bit of a hubbub recently about a rumored successor to the Dreamcast being released but as it turns out, it is not true. http://kotaku.com/no-sega-isnt-launching-a-dreamcast-2-1749342080 I personally can't see this happening just cos it would involve having to buy yet another console and/or all subsequent iterations. I think it would be very difficult for Sega to crack the entrenched oligarchy of Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo, and I would think (although I don't know) that the console market overall is stagnating/in decline anyway. Sega has also said they'd be focusing on digital as a result. It's a huge effort and I'm not sure Sega would be getting that much in return. That said, regardless of likelihood, it would always be awesome to see your childhood favourite games with modern day graphics and shiz. Do we have any Dreamcast fans in the house? Anyone who would want to see this happen? |
