Well, Crash and the others came... found Dr. Cortex... and some things happen... and they all race... and, it's a really random story!

They sounds... interesting... Some racing games have some rather unique features. For example, all the Mario Kart games have the thing where you can hit other players.

It's a great game, though. Plenty of times I laughed. You should get it, it came out in 2005, I think...

I see that racing games aren't popular here, heh. Well, no offense but Fate and Ralz - some of your arguments are very sceptic, and they look like posted 5 minutes after playing the game... It looks like you would play only a racer with opponents weaker about 400hp, with indestructible car, pole position #1, and 1 lap with length of 30 seconds. Now what's the point in this?

Car "teleports behind you", you are blocked during start of the race, your car blows up? Well ok, so I'll say:
You encounter a boss in a random RPG game. It throws poison at you, freeze, bleeze, sneeze and other spells, you can't move. Your HP is going down very fast. You lost MP. And what, you gonna put your joypad away and give up? That's the the point of the game, it has to be hard. Some of those difficulties posted by you are pretty exaggerated.
If you play a racing game with some commitment, you know that each lap may be different. I'm not talking about reaching every corner with 200km/h, auto gear, and using walls or other obstacles as a turning help.

There are simple racers, I'll give you that. And yes, they get boring. But take for example:

*Gran Tourismo -It gives you tons of cars, companies, races, tuning capabilities and above all else - you can tweak your car to the very limits, by adjusting everything you bought; brakes, spoilers, turbines etc etc. You get different wheel drives, FF, MR, 4WD, FWD etc. with different ways of driving, handling, accelerating.

*Need For Speed-s - Offer you basically fun with police, drifting, dragging, and all that fancy tuning as well, even a bit of story. And it gets really good when your wanted level gets high enough.

*Ever heard of Wipeout? - Futuristic racer, with nice music and something you may like - you can attack others, to eliminate them from racing. You can also see cool vision of the future, by looking at the race tracks.

*Colin Mcrae and others - truly, time is of the essence here. Make a small mistake and you may loose. Hit a tree just barely, you may damage your car enough, to loose couple valuable seconds further on your way. Play with the car, adjust it. And suffer from the unexpected malfunctions as well.

I'm not a race guy myself, but I do know that some racing games have a lot to offer. You just have to see it.

I also like that series.

I also like CTR Crash Team Racing basically cause you get too drive some mini karts and grab items hit your opponent etc.

I don't like Gran Turismo or whatever because the cars are all rally cars which kinda suck.

The only racing game I enjoy is the Mario Kart series. It's just fun & simple racing with a good multi-player, but it can annoying when you're in the lead and you get hit with lightning or a blue shell.

The Wii version is good as it has online play so you can always play against someone, but then you get people who don't play fair.

The racing game series for me. Only racing game series I brought more than one game from :)
2097 being my fave one, but I just ordered Wipeout HD so who knows, things may soon change.

I did rather enjoy Crash Team Racing and Chocobo Racing as well
I'm pretty sure I got everything done/unlocked on Chocobo Racing I enjoyed it that much!

I really like Mario Kart Double Dash... And Crash Team racing is quite fun ^__^ Although there are times when I like Forza... I don't really like racing games... They're more fun with friends though =3

Now you know :P I'll tell you if its any good later too! Although I'm not sure if my opinion will count for much since I'm not into racing games, least of all ones with cars, although I did used to enjoy some Gran Tourismo.

I thought the game was rude, I didn't like it! At least I got three achievements though in my one and only race.

Thanks
One was just for finishing your first race though. It wasn't as sensitive as I like my controls on these things, to me it felt clunky, and there was this annoying guy talking at me all the time with slow loading screens.

I got Wipeout HD the other week and had a few days of playing it, it's really good! I think I enjoy it even more than 2097. I don't like the zone tracks though, looking at them hurts my eyes a little at times for some reason so I don't think I'll get the survive for 75 zones trophy any time soon

It's the perfect/best racing game out there imo now. It feels very nice to play, things are just as reactive as I like 'em and it's stylish and pretty to boot :3

You can probably tell from my siggy that I enjoyed it, he he.
