This was one of the let downs from Square Enix.
Being one of the worst RPG in my opinion, almost the worst game I've ever played.
Graphics seems very flat for the PS2 system, moving characters across a map feels like moving pieces across a chess board.
Disappointing really, the only real enjoyment, was the complexity of the character's plot and a pretty good OST to go along.
Not to mention it had such a nice PS2 disc case design, everything wrapped up really beautifully.
Story was moderate to good.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it, not to mention it's quite old as well.
I guess you can't judge a book by it's cover. =/

Any thoughts?

Easy wins have never been my style
I completely forgot SE even made this game, I remember when I was looking for a new RPG probably 4-5 years ago now I picked up both this and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time and was going to purchase just one, and per advice by the staff member at ebgames he said to go with Till the End of Time.

Hehe, I think he was no doubt correct with his advice, funnily enough I don't even see this game in the stores anymore either, maybe SE want to forget about it as well? XD

Great choice indeed, I like all the ebgame staff members, they know so much, their advices could really help you.
I'd trade my Unlimited Saga in near perfect condition for a second hand Star Ocean. =(
It was sure a mistake this game was ever made, bad reputation for SE.
It made quite a hit to the local fans at my previous school since it had the preview disc to FFX-2.
Anyways, the amount of characters playable is not bad, but still, not a great game overall.

I really hated this game then I read that when you really understand how it works it becomes good so I read as much as I could be bothered with on Game faqs and for a while I was really enjoying it but then I came across a really stupid bit so never mind, I guess I still don't like it >_>
