You accidentally lose a good portion of your game--or all of it. Maybe you dropped the cartridge in the toilet? Maybe your sibling deleted it? Maybe you forgot to save and the power ran out? Maybe there was a blackout? Did you start over? Did you never play again? Tell your tales here. I accidentally overwrote my entire file of battle trophies in Star Ocean 3 because I wasn't reading what it was saying. I had more than 200... I know I have tons more, but nothing is coming to me right now. xD |

My near-perfect save of FF VII was ruined because my brother's playthrough was saved over it. He denied that he did it... I didn't believe him, but I let it go and started over a new file. Decided not to go for perfect though. Once when I first got KH II, I finally made it passed that looooong tutorial portion with Roxas (basically all of Twilight Town...), and the power decides to go out. I didn't save AT ALL, so I had to start over from the very beginning. The save battery in my Super Mario 64 cart decided to corrupt, and it erased my perfect game (all 120 stars). It was easy getting them back. I was a pro at that game. ![]() That's all I can think of at the top of my head. I'm sure I have more horror stories though. |

I accidentally saved over my brother's save file on Crystalis way back in the day. I felt really bad about, but he was like "eh." It's not a long game, I guess, and he was only halfway through. One time I was playing Pokemon Platinum for like two or three hours. I'd caught at least two rare pokemon, I'd beaten a gym leader or two, I'd advanced a bit in the plot... and then I dropped my ds and the game popped out. Loaded it back up, I was where I had been 2 hours earlier because I hadn't saved. Didn't play pokemon again for a while after that. Also posted about it back in the day on TFF, and Vicky responded acting like Vicky does "I always make sure to save >>" or something that makes you wanna punch. Anyhoo...Wuv, Yer Mom |

the worst is when it isn't your fault. Sometimes my ps3 had trouble saving ps2 files and would corrupt them- happened to Rogue Galaxy a bunch of times. I now load a 2nd blank save "cartridge" incase that starts to happen. |

My GameCube memory card corrupted. So save data for Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Tales of Symphonia, Paper Mario, Baten Katos etc...all gone. ![]() As a result I never finished Paper Mario of Baten Katos, just couldn't do it all again. :/ |

Tekken 5. Finished all the stories and my sisters and I my sisters and I had some pretty good ranks on arcade mode. Then one day, the save file got corrupted or something like that and it was all gone! I think we started again, but gave up shortly after

You lend memory cards to a friend. When he returns them, they're empty. Grahhhhhh! Also, when you're playing SO3 and Sophia says, "Didn't you say you had a lot of homework to do before coming to Hyda anyway?" Then your mom says, "Didn't you say you had a lot of homework? Turn the game off." Damn youuuu Sophiaaaaa! |

Yes that's certainly happened to me. I had one of those cheap memory cards manufactured by some game store (who I don't think even exists anymore), and of course Final fantasys 7 and 9 took an iusse to the damn thing. Saved up a game on FFVII during the part in the snowy mountains, then went out for the day. I came back home to continue my game and the data had vanished. My FFIX incident was more of a 'corrupt data' thing - I got around that by saving 3 times each time I saved

I just now lost about an hour of level-grinding in Earthbound...and all the stuff I got in that time too! Dunno what happened. Decided to leave the area, and when I dropped down into the hole to get out of there...the game just...stopped... GUESS I WON'T BE USING THAT WAY TO GET OUT NEXT TIME.
