Horror games this gen

What's with the lack of horror games this gen? Across the PS3, Wii, and 360 there are very few decent-looking horror games that spring to mind.

Deadly Premonition looks pretty funny, and Fragile Dreams can be kinda creepy (even though it isn't really intended to be a horror game, apparently), but that's pretty much it.

People say that F.E.A.R and Dead Space are good, but I can't imagine anything being terribly scary when you can just blast your way through.

The Silent Hill HD Collection would have been a nice addition to the list, but looks like they've messed that up. Those new Silent Hill games look pretty naff too.

So yeah...really feels like there's been a lack of horror which is a shame because surely gross and scary things will be more gross and scary on modern machines.

Oh yeah, almost forgot about PC! I'm not a PC gamer, but Amnesia gets so much praise. Might be worth checking out if you're feeling the need for a bit of horror recently too.

Anybody else around here even give a crap about horror games?

Hopefully that Wii remake of Fatal Frame/Project Zero 2 will come out this year.

I saw an ad for the new Silent Hill game, it didn't seem all that bad, actually

Sure, it looks okay compared with a lot of other horror games, but compared to old Silent Hill games it looks like a piece of crap.

Yeah, I'm not really into horror games. I did help my dad play a bit of Resident Evil 5 though, which seems pretty good to me. I believe Resident Evil 6 is coming out towards the end of the year as well.

Yeah, that's what they said. Think it'll probably be better than 5. ^^ Resident Evil isn't even a tiny bit scary, but they're not bad anyways. Had some quality fun with the co-op on 5.

Someone clearly hasn't played Code Veronica. That one really rustled my jimmies.

Dear me, Pads. :p

Is there any horror game that doesn't scare you?

Decided to playthrough good ol' Silent Hill 3 in the dark on the PS2 since they did such a shitty job of the HD collection. Dahum, that game is still really good, and the graphics are still amazing. <3

Maybe I'll even play through Fatal Frame/Project Zero 3 after since I never finished it. I got lost...xD

Horror games. <3

Code Veronica was freakin' scary, so many people agree with that. I'll agree the others aren't scary at all, but Code Veronica went out of its way to scare you.

And I don't frighten easily anymore.

You'd probably get scared if a toilet roll appeared out of no where. You should try Bioshock again, then. It isn't even a tiny bit scary either. But is awesome. <3

Oooh, apparently Deadly Premonition is coming to the PS3 with Move support! So glad I never got around to buying it now. Can't wait for that, it looks so bad that it'll good. xD

And aww, Pads, I just wanna tease you relentlessly over Bioshock. xD

I know you do, it's such an easy thing to do.

Dee Pee has everything. Cowboy zombies, trees on their periods, woman whispering in each others ears. Look, it's all in the trailer ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7iiyTIVKJQ

I think in Japan it's for the 360 & PS3 already, but in the west it's currently only on the 360.

It seems pretty quirky and funny at times. Awesome stuff. Give us that updated PS3 version already!
