In my opinion Welch was the most interesting NPC character in Till the End of Time, and now her character, or at least based on her has being added to the Star Ocean remake. What are your thoughts on this? |

What?!?! Welch as in that crazy invention girl? (A bit like tricksters in Suikoden, but I digress) In Star Ocean 1?!!? That sounds AWESOME!! I wonder how she fits into it though. When is SO1 set? *goes forth to find out*

Yes, does anyone know why she is in the game? I mean, aside from the cameo part. What is the storyline reason she is in the game? What does she say when she meets you? Does she mention anything about the Eternal Sphere or the 4D universe? Ive always known that those communicators she gives out in SO3 were too advanced for the planet, even if she came from Greeton (21st century Earth technology supposedly, still wouldnt have such a range that you could talk to someone in another planet...) |

I certainly need First Departure to have an English release to find out more of why she is there myself. I can only assume that thanks the the technological powers of Greeton she has somehow managed to teleport into the eras of First Departure & Second Evolution, then again maybe she just stumbled into a teleportation device to the era of Till the End of Time from Second Evolution, just like Claude got lost at the beginning of Second Evolution? I wish I knew for sure myself, I can only speculate until I play it too... All I do know is this should hopefully add more entertainment value to the remakes, the scenes of her in Till the End of Time made me LOL many times. |

If you can't wait then just download the ROM. I downloaded it myself but I'm ashamed to say I never troubled myself with getting very far even though the game seemed great. But uh, I don't remember much about Till the end of time except for some vague memory of annoying voices and a desert :/ |

There is no official reason why she is in. There are 3 theories. (Spoilers) 1. She's a 4D being 2. She is using the time gate to travel around 3. There is no reason, she is thrown in there for pure fan pleasure Most people rule out option 2 because of the Time Gate's restraints and the fact that Planet Styx was kept a secret. |

It's not why she's there that concerns me. It's why tri-Ace CHOOSE HER.. OF ALL THE DUMB WITTED... Okay.. Much Welch hate here.. But personally I think I would have chosen Puffy for a cameo character. I mean she was in every game thus far. They could of made a scene where you got her in Troop. But really.. I've played as Welch and she's slow.. SOO VERY SLOW. not even worth it as a fighter character. |

I've just recruited Welch and I've seen a couple of PAs. She is freakin' hilarious!!! She's quirky, she's got whacky special arts and I especially love her feud with Ilia. At the moment, I'm trying to find her a new weapon (she seems to be doing 0 damage to the enemies in the Purgatorium inner sanctum), but otherwise she's not too bad in battle. The speculation on Welch seems to be Spoiler: click to toggle

Actually, with the remakes, doesn't she appear in them ALL now? I'm not sure what the gimmick behind this is, but she is a pretty... fascinating character, if you could word her that way, especially in The Last Hope, where she becomes hilarious. |

I loved Welch in The Last Hope. And she was actually pretty funny in the two remakes, too. In both games, she has some funny battle quotes: "Take that. And that. And that!" And then there's: "Nibelung! Something or other!" And I remembered her trying to sell love potions during a PA in First Departure! Haha, I loved that PA! |

She was quite useful in battle. I always used her Nibelungaling attack, and it dealt 9,999 damage to everything in its range. And her Slappity Slap attack really brought down an enemy quickly. Also, Mythril Fist was almost the same thing as Omega Lightray Balde. However, it was slower... But still useful nonetheless. |

You make her sound like the ultimate party member. But anyway, even from The Last Hope, I could tell she was a cool character. |

Nah, she gets outshined by other party members. Her attacks are fast, but not that fast. But she is ranked pretty high in most useful characters. Actually, if you look up a YouTube video of First Departure with Welch vs. Gabriella, you'll see that Welch can take her down just by... slapping her. |

I can't imagine how many people would actually fight using a pointer! And why is it that Welch can make her "handy stick" come to life and attack, but she can't use Symbology? Don't tell me the pointer is mechanical. |

Well, you fight through the game with Roddick solo and he could kill everything by the end, and you question how Welch can do her thing? It's Welch, she's random that way! |

And here weapons had the funniest descriptions. I think first it's playful or something. Then, something about getting annoyed because of the poking. After that, there was something about warning for the last time to cut it out. And her final weapon was the rage of people who have been pushed too far with the poking. I read them all (of which there are more than the ones that I described above), and I laughed at the transition from each one to the next!=P |

Slap. She likes to slap her enemies with her handystick. Of course, there are some punches, too, but mostly slaps. She has a very humorous way of fighting, I have to say. |
