As opposed to the information topic, this will be to discuss any unconfirmed information, rumours or anything you would like to see from the next instalment of the series.

Right from the start with the first Famitsu interpretations a few sources are claiming that PS3 exclusive was mentioned, although certainly not confirmed since.

Although, since Star Ocean's history is all PlayStation I guess that's enough of a reason to try make us believe it will be PS3. Mind you, I'd be happy if it was on PS3 of the next gen systems!

Share any potential leaks or speculate about the next in the series here!

Hmm, I heard that Star Ocean 4 will be taking place a great while BEFORE Till the end of time. If so, it'll be a real bummer on my part. I was really hoping to see what took place after the events of SO3, but that won't stop me from still eagerly awaiting SO4.

After seeing the impressive display of a future Earth in the SO3 opening, I sure do hope they add more futuristic elements like that into SO4. Being able to visit Earth itself wouldn't be too bad at all haha, we'll just have to wait and see I guess.

Well, that screenshot of Edge standing by a gas station could easily be on Earth. I mean, it does happen 90 years in our future so gas stations could still be around even if they arent used anymore. That means that we might be able to visit Earth.
I wish I lived in the Eternal Sphere.

Insp. Chin, I read that SO4 will be released on the 360 first and that a PS3 release has yet to be confirmed.

Yeah, it's been released on the 360...good thing I held off buying a PS3! Not that I was going to anyway :P

I've just googled it and Yahoo Japan's Financial site said that Square Enix has no plans to release on PS3. But there has been no announcement regarding exclusivity to Xbox, as there was for Infinite Discovery.

Yeah, it appears tri-Ace want to make games for Xbox 360 now.

Good thing I haven't yet committed to purchasing either 360 or PS3 yet. Because if all tri-Ace games are going to be on 360 I'll more then likely but it over PS3 now. :)

The ship that we get to control in SO4 is the Calnus. I've just realised the Calnus is the ship that Ronyx (Claude's dad) was in charge of. Edge is blonde, just like Claude. Could it be possible that they're distantly related somehow? This is probably just a coincidence though.

Quark: TBH I highly doubt they are related. It's possible, but unlikely. The series does a blonde/blue/blonde rotation with their characters.

Yeah, I know the chances are next to nothing, but I derive fun from making ludicrous claims from minimal evidence.

Belonging to the first expeditionary batch of SRF as Edge, Crowe attained the rank of Captain for Spaceship 001: Acura at a young age of 21 years, due to his exceptional talent and leadership abilities. He has been childhood friends with Edge and Reimi, and the latter two treat him as their elder brother. He is a hardworking and determined man who will tackle any obstacles in his way. His quick thinking allows him to remain calm, analyzes and solves the many situations he's put in. Crowe's reason for joining the SRF is to help open a new chapter for Earth and mankind, after the depressing effects of the devastating war.

Crowe! Is he evil? Sure, the bio says that he was childhood friends with Edge and Reimi but so was Jowy from Suikoden II! Jowy betrays his two childhood friends and becomes king of the enemy kingdom for some kind of moral conundrum.

This also might turn out to be a Seifer-type situation: "Seifer is a classmate and rival of Squall, and can only be controlled by the player during the Dollet sequence. He acts as a mirror to Squall in many respects, having dated Rinoa before she met Squall, and assuming a leadership position among his friends." Mirror to Edge has not been confirmed but it's quite possible.

Let's not forget: he looks like pure evil! He resembles Trance Kuja from Final Fantasy IX who just happened to be evil. Also, Zahhak from Suikoden V was one of the Queen's Knights in the beginning and he too looked evil. Surprise surprise, he was one of the only two knights who betrayed you!

Also, he has apparently not been confirmed as playable and has not been seen on the Calnus yet. And we already have a benign-looking rival in the form of Arumat.

I agree with you exept with the Suikoden V part.3 knights betray you:Galleon,Alenia and Zihark, but Galleon repents and joins you after a while,so maybe it's the same with Crowe.

A bit off topic but...

That character is called Lyude from Baten Kaitos Eternal wings and the lost ocean....he looks like Crowe's twin, were they developed by the same guy or is that coincidence?

Also AschTheBloody from Tales of the abyss looks the same as well.

Haha, sorry. It was early - I got mixed up between Galleon and Zahhak because they're both old :P Zahhak was the one I meant. Although, if you want to get technical, there are four knights that betray you: Miakis became a knight when Godwin came into power (though I don't know if that means she counts) :P

GASP!! We've got inter-game twins! :o

I can really see the connection with Seifer there more then anyone, he was playable for about two minutes and that was it. Maybe this is going to be much alike how Crowe will be, we will get to play as him for a very short stint, only to betray us and reveal his true intentions!

I guess that would be enough to warrant a place on the official site eh?

And that"playble for a while then betrays you"thing is very similar to what Asch The Bloody does in Tales of the abyss.

Well props on your speculation Quark, it very well may be true! I actually hope though that it isn't for a few reasons. Well first I really want to play as the guy so I can duel weild. Second it adds more characters and I always like more characters. In fact one of the reasons I love Star Ocean so much is because of all the choices. Also, don't forget that if Crowe is in fact playable he will be the 5th male which will even out the amount of male and female characters.

I'm hoping he's playable but I don't know if he will be. Here's the deal though, if he becomes playable he's going to become my new avatar ^_^

Now, I'm not keeping an active eye on Gfaqs anymore because I don't want to see any spoilers, but I'm assuming Crowe is still not known as playable?

I really hope that there is no plans to eventually make a PS3 release of this and they decide to make him playable there, a bit like a Director's Cut, or Eternal Sonata...
