Japanese Version Name: Fate Linegod
Race: Earthling
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 148 lbs
Age: 19
Weapons: Sword
Starting Level: 1

Background: Fayt is a college student that loves sports and combat training. The story starts off with Fayt on a lovely holiday with his long time friend Sophia, and parents for both of them. The holiday gets rudely cut short leaving Fayt lost trying to find a way back to his friends and family. He is also the sun to one of the most famous, yet controversial Symbological Genetics scientists in the world.

Personality: He is a caring, yet stubborn young man. He will always try balance defending what he believes is right, as well as what the rules say.

Recruitment Info: Fayt is the main character of the game, and the one you always control during story events.

Battle Information: Fayt can learn both Battle Skills and Symbology; refer to the list below for what unique battle skills he will learn, when and an evaluation of them.

Note: Base cost is the skill cost if used as a minor skill; it varies by both the level of the attack and the characters maximum HP for Major Attacks. The Base Cost purpose is for a guide to fury consumption use and whether it consumes HP or MP to perform.

Battle Skills Summary:

Name: Blade of Fury
CP Cost: 4
Learned: Lv 2
Range: Close
Base Cost: 20 HP/20 Fury
Function: A light-speed sword. Hold the attack button down to initiate. Repeatedly tap the attack button after initiation to increase number of attacks.
Evaluation: Great skill to use early in the game, can link up to 4 good range fast attacks, although clearly becomes outdated as the game progresses.
Rating: 3.5/10

Name: Blazing Sword
CP Cost: 4
Learned: Lv 6
Range: N/A links with standard attacks.
Base Cost: 10 MP/10 Fury
Function: Bestows the power of flames on his sword for a limited time. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: You probably won’t need this attack until the harder difficulties, Universe & 4D. Only there do you really notice its value, on easier difficulties it makes battle too easy thanks to MP damage. Although on 4D it’s a must early.
Rating: 7/10

Name: Sidekick
CP Cost: 2
Learned: Lv 15
Range: Close
Base Cost: 30 HP/10 Fury
Function: A swift side-step, followed by a kick. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: This attack is so good it’s almost unfair, fast, easily cancel chained and makes him basically impossible to be hit. Not the best damage wise, but probably the safest attack in the game to use.
Rating: 8.5/10

Name: Ice Blade
CP Cost: 4
Learned: Lv 20
Range: N/A links with standard attacks.
Base Cost: 12 MP/10 Fury
Function: Bestows the power of ice on his sword for a limited time. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Similar to Blazing Sword, excellent fairly early in the game for the harder difficulties.
Rating: 7/10

Name: Shotgun Blast
CP Cost: 4
Learned: Lv 25
Range: Close
Base Cost: 25 HP/20 Fury
Function: Short range shotgun blast. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: This attack is not too bad, reasonable HP damage that can be invoked rather quickly.
Rating: 4/10

Name: Lightning Blade
CP Cost: 6
Learned: Lv 30
Range: N/A links with standard attacks.
Base Cost: 16 MP/10 Fury
Function: Bestows the power of lightning on his sword for a limited time. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Similar to Blazing Sword, excellent fairly early in the game for the harder difficulties.
Rating: 7/10

Name: Air Raid
CP Cost: 7
Learned: Lv 40
Range: Close
Base Cost: 300 HP/40 Fury
Function: Anti-air strike. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Now the quality attacks start arriving, this can cause a bucket load of high damage attacks, proficiency gets even better with its level, also great to chain with, only its high cost makes it tough to get maximum results with.
Rating: 8.5/10

Name: Dimension Door
CP Cost: 6
Learned: Lv 50
Range: N/A, can be performed anywhere.
Base Cost: 200 HP/20 Fury
Function: Anti-air strike. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Causes Fayt to create a powerful, and deadly zone of energy to surround him, before he warps into a instant and powerful direct hit at the enemy, does both HP, MP damage and can Paralyse the enemy. It can also be held with fury reduction techniques for a considerable amount of time, even then its cost is not as high as it could be. Rather similar to Ashton’s Leaf Slash but with more attack bonuses.
Rating: 9.5/10

Name: Divine Blade
CP Cost: 8
Learned: Item
Requires: Bulky Folio, found on level 7 of the Maze of Tribulations.
Range: N/A links with standard attacks.
Base Cost: 150 MP/30 Fury
Function: Bestows divine power on his sword for a limited time. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Best of the Blade attacks that’s for sure, being non-elemental means it can always provide additional damage, but the CP cost is so high I find it too much of a loss to use it, also considering it’s learnt so late you can equip better skills for a lower cost.
Rating: 5/10

Name: Ethereal Blast
CP Cost: 8
Learned: Item
Requires: Huge Folio, found on level 114 of Sphere 211.
Range: Close to Medium range.
Base Cost: 500 HP/70 Fury
Function: Concentrated blast of divine energy. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: This attack both looks fantastic and is extremely powerful, although its high and slow invocation time puts it on the double edged side.
Rating: 5/10

Battle Overview: Fayt offers a great balance of powerful attacks, as well as a great foot speed which allows him to aide others in battle with great haste. His attacks are also generally excellent to cancel chain with, and allow him to cause tonnes of damage relatively safely. He will also generally gain the highest best DEF stat of all your characters. This makes him a great candidate for Boots of Prowess and is generally the first choice to gain “Defeat with no damage” battle trophies with.

Fayt also offers arguably the best ‘standard’ attack set, using Long Major > Long Minor > Close minor x 2 = A very effective knockdown 4 hit combo, which is by far the most effective attack to use should you set him up to use the “Enchanted” sword style attacks.

On the double edged side Fayt can also learn some offensive Symbology, but considering his range of Battle Skills and lack in INT compared to your specialist Symbologists they are pretty much a waste. If you don’t disable his Symbology the AI can severely waste Fayt’s talents in battle. The benefit of this however is his MP tends to be at an average standard compared to the others, which makes him a great candidate for “Common Support Symbols”, as this can teach Fayt healing. So just make sure you turn off all his symbols for AI use (well except Healing if you use Common Support Symbols).

Suggested Skill Sets

Below the Belt
Sm: Side Kick
Lm: Side Kick
SM: Side Kick
LM: Side Kick
S1: Max Fury
S2: Critical Hit HP

I call that below the belt for a very good reason, it’s basically impossible to have Fayt receive damage while using it. Just Hold X, then Hold O, rinse and repeat. Oh yeah, it’s cheap but godly effective. Aided with max Fury allows you to resume this sequence faster during down time, to further cut possible damage received out. Critical Hit HP just helps it deliver even more damage. This combined with Berserk turned on is a very cheap, but extremely effective combination.

To Strong, to fast
Sm: Charge
Lm: (None)
SM: Dimension Door
LM: Side Kick
S1: Common Support Symbols
S2: First Aid

With this, have Fayt perform a minor attack, quickly followed with Charge, and then Dimension Door and hold onto it. With Berserk on also you can hold this down for a heck of a long time, tearing off both HP & MP damage while also causing the occasional Paralysis to the enemy. Side Kick on LM is for an obvious easy attack. Common Support Symbols allows Fayt to be a healer, helping eliminate the need for other characters, and First Aid is as good of a miscellaneous ability you can find. Offers tonnes of damage, while also offering healing support at the same time, extremely powerful and balanced at the same time!

Note that the battle skill evaluations are based on my own thoughts and experiences with the game, I'm sure not everyone will agree with my ratings; feel free to post your own assessments of these abilities or any other comments relating to Fayt.

I agree with the above post. I won't comment on his personality, just his skills now.

Fayt is the owner of the cheapest skill in the entire game: Side Kick. If you put this on Short X and Short O, you can easily chain it to the 300% Cancel Bonus several times. Too bad it can't go over, though. But Fayt's Side Kick will continuously get stronger, and what's the best is that it's almost impossible for Fayt to get hit while using it. I took down a boss with just this one attacks, and Fayt only got hit when he finished, not when he was performing it.

Also, if Fayt has extremely high defense (which can be achieved by synthesizing 8 ATK/DEF +30% from the fully refined Boots of Prowess to his Veinslay and fully refining his Valiant mail), Fayt will be invincible to all attacks other than Symbology, including Freya's Ether Strike. This is good because then, you can just put Side Kick on Short X and Ethereal Blast on Short O and chain them (Side Kick first, of course). If nothing hits Fayt, his Ethereal Blast will get even stronger, decimating everything within range.

I'd say he's the most well balanced character in the game.
