Japanese Version Name: Souffle Rosetti
Race: Velbaysain
Height: 4'4"
Weight: 79 lbs
Age: 14
Weapon: Bangles
Starting Level: 1

Background: Peppita is one of many performers part of the Rossetti Troupe, and possesses increadible dancing ability at a young age. Originally an orphan child as her mother Elayne died early during her birth and the father is unknown. She now lives and travels with her uncle Piccolotto, whom manages the Circus Troupe.

Personality: She is as carefree and bubbly as they come. Always oblivious to danger and basically does what she wants. Peppita will also do just about anything for her Circus Troupe to be successful.

Recruitment Info: She is also one of the four characters you don’t need to have in your final party, and may be one of three that will perform a rescue action later in the game. Even if she does not she will still be recruitable, simply allow her to join when she asks during the events early on disk two. Keeping in mind that if you choose to take her the remaining of Nel, Albel or Roger that are not yet in your group will be unable to join.

Battle Information: Peppita can learn only Battle Skills, well only by level ups that is. She can learn Symbology only by the use of either “Common Attack Symbols” & “Common Support Symbols”; refer to the list below for what unique battle skills she will learn, when and an evaluation of them.

Note: Base cost is the skill cost if used as a minor skill; it varies by both the level of the attack and the characters maximum HP for Major Attacks. The Base Cost purpose is for a guide to fury consumption use and whether it consumes HP or MP to perform.

Note2: Peppita’s dance attacks while costing 6 CP should really be 8 CP. They cannot be cancelled unless you cancel a different battle skill with it. So always put your dances on minor attacks only, and when you’ve had enough cancel out of it with a major attack linked. Otherwise you’ll have her stand there like a huge target and get hit completely defenceless. All dances improve in quality as the level improves.

Battle Skills Summary:

Name: Magic Hook
CP Cost: 2
Learned: Lv 5
Range: Close/Medium
Base Cost: 15 HP/15 Fury
Function: Attacks with an enchanted hook and line. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Creates a great range attack which deals high HP damage, simple yet effective
Rating: 6.5/10

Name: Frozen Daggers
CP Cost: 3
Learned: Lv 10
Range: Close/Medium
Base Cost: 10 HP/20 Fury
Function: Attacks with four ice blades that appear in midair. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: An attack that cannot be underestimated, while it’s a little slower then Nels powerful Ice Daggers, it still offers 4 good HP power Icicles that somewhat home in on the enemy. Should the ice attack succeed a free hit kill opportunity will present itself.
Rating: 8/10

Name: Power Dance
CP Cost: 6
Learned: Lv 15
Range: NA, performed where she stands at the time.
Base Cost: 20 MP/15 Fury
Function: Raises the Attack of party members within a limited area. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Peppita dances away giving additional attack power to those nearby, like Power up but 3 at once.
Rating: 6.5/10

Name: Instanto Blast
CP Cost: 4
Learned: Lv 20
Range: Close/Medium
Base Cost: 50 HP/25 Fury
Function: Fires a high-speed concussion blast. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: A very fast reasonable range attack that can cause MP power and occasional instant death. It’s very easy to use and effective enough to use in battle.
Rating: 7/10

Name: Panic Dance
CP Cost: 6
Learned: Lv 25
Range: NA, performed where she stands at the time.
Base Cost: 20 MP/15 Fury
Function: Confuses the directional sense of enemies within range. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: While confusion is one of the lesser status effects this can at times be extremely valuable (particularly against Get 'em Twin Beast), having an ability to chain out with an attack straight after it works (or not) makes it safe and effective to use in most situations.
Rating: 7/10

Name: Kaboom
CP Cost: 5
Learned: Lv 30
Range: Close
Base Cost: 100 HP/20 Fury
Function: Generates a shockwave around her. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Creates a large ball of energy that swirls around her with a great diameter, creates a few good damage hits.
Rating: 5/10

Name: Healing Dance
CP Cost: 6
Learned: Lv 40
Range: NA, performed where she stands at the time.
Base Cost: 100 MP/15 Fury
Function: Restores the HP of party members within range. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Restores a little HP by increments, great option if your not interested in a specialist symbol healer.
Rating: 5/10

Name: Faerie Friend
CP Cost: 6
Learned: Lv 50
Range: Close
Base Cost: 80 HP/20 Fury
Function: Summons a strange faerie to attack enemies. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: This strange summon creature takes a while to invoke, can cause some decent HP & MP attacks, but difficult to get a great deal out of it.
Rating: 4/10

Name: Dream Hammer
CP Cost: 5
Learned: Item
Requirement: Weighty Folio, level 126 of Sphere 211.
Range: Close
Base Cost: 120 HP/22 Fury
Function: A series of attacks customized to her personal style. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: Here you can swing wilding with a large hammer, continue pressing the button for additional damage. Also does a reasonable amount of MP damage, fairly easy to use and really hits very hard.
Rating: 9/10

Name: Magical Dance
CP Cost: 6
Learned: Item
Requirement: Hefty Folio, level 5 of the Maze of Tribulations.
Range: Close
Base Cost: 250 HP/15 Fury
Function: Restores the MP of party members within range. Hold the attack button down to initiate.
Evaluation: One of the better dances available, MP is difficult to restore outside items and MP Regeneration items, but with this you can potentially restore MP for all 3 characters at once as a solid rate.
Rating: 7/10

Battle Overview: Peppita is deceptively powerful and useful in battle, yes her voiceover can be rather annoying at times. But she really is a queen on the battle field. She specialises in quality MP attacks as well as some excellent support dancing techniques.

On the negative side her basic attacks aren’t fantastic for what is typically a melee/all-rounder. She is not really suited for Stun, Increase HP/MP etc. Although with her skill sets it’s not really a concern, you need only so many that can cause Stun’s etc anyway. She also annoyingly starts at Lv 1 on disk 2 (Good for one BT, but that’s it). She will take a bit of nurturing to get to a decent level to be able to help out. But the effort is well worth it, no doubt about it. She can fit into any team, just requires a little more work to use then the other characters, likely one to for you to control rather then leave her to the AI.

Suggested Skill Sets

Dancing on Ice
Sm: Panic Dance
Lm: (Empty)
SM: Frozen Daggers
LM: Frozen Daggers
S1: First Aid
S2: Critical Hit MP

With this you can use her most useful Panic dance, which can quickly be cancelled out of whether it works or not. This is the perfect set to use on enemies that are susceptible to status conditions. Confuse them; follow up with constant freezing attempts to then shatter the enemy to nothing once frozen!

Bash and Smash
Sm: Frozen Daggers
Lm: (Empty)
SM: Frozen Daggers
LM: Dream Hammer
S1: First Aid
S2: Critical Hit MP

With this setup you can chain Frozen Daggers from close range to give yourself a chance of instantly freezing the enemy, opening the door to smash the enemy to nothing in one hit. It also allows for the extremely powerful Dream Hammer to be used. One you get someone in its attack keep bashing away, this would easily be her most powerful attack. Critical Hit MP will help boost the damage Dream Hammer can deliver, and of course it also allows for First Aid.

Note that the battle skill evaluations are based on my own thoughts and experiences with the game, I'm sure not everyone will agree with my ratings; feel free to post your own assessments of these abilities or any other comments relating to Peppita.
