The official site is been a major tease, opening up a character section with 13 slots, 1 more then the Japanese official site for the Xbox 360 version. 1) Edge 2) Reimi 3) Faize 4) Lymle 5) Bacchus (Xbox 360 site) 6) Meracle (Xbox 360 site) 7) Crowe (Xbox 360 site) 8) Myuria (Xbox 360 site) 9) Welch (Xbox 360 site) 10) Arumat (Xbox 360 site) 11) Sarah (Xbox 360 site) 12) Stephen D. Kenny (Xbox 360 site) 13) ???  Who could it be? I'd say Welch based on tri-Ace remake history, but she is already there.

Interesting development. I wonder if it's a brand new character they're planning to add, or if they're are just adding a profile for someone that featured in the Xbox version and perhaps giving them more of a role in the International game. One person that comes to my mind is Klaus Bachtein, the scientist guy from the Alternate Earth who befriended Meracle. Perhaps instead of staying on Alternate Earth he will actually come along this time with Meracle. It could open up more of a back-story for Meracle and maybe his scientific skills will come in useful for creating items and such. |

^ LOL Quarky. Initially I was thinking that Ashlay could become playable after beating him in the ranking battles. Although, by the time you achieve that your normally up to post game events, so it might be too late to make it worthwhile. Plus his role in the game outside of the Arena is basically non-existent. So my prediction is the character will be Lias! He will offer to join after you help him out on Roak. As you know after you finish the Astral Caves sidequest there is really nothing for the Astral Knights to do after all. Lias can have a range of attacks similar to Cyuss, converted to the Last Hope style. Why Lias? Because history has shown that remakes have added the following: Till the End of Time Mirage: Formerly an NPC with a mid range role, and due to that she was able to fit into the story quite well. Adray: Just like Quark joked about his role was the most fragmented out of the party. Welch & Welch I guess a slight possibly of her becoming playable, but who would be your emissary for Item Creation if she does? I think it would break the story too much to make her playable, plus it won't fill that additional slot since she is already in the 12. I think that other then more Welch (which really isn't an option here), it's best to integrate an existing character into a greater role, rather then create a new one. And of them I just think Lias is the best option. To do it the game will be nice and let you have 9 characters in the party, and on a replay it will allow 10 with the silent addition of Faize. Making a total of 5 playable males & 5 playable females. That's my way of thinking, although I could be wrong, and have been before. ;-) If you have an alternate theory please share, I'm most curious! |

I thought it would be Bachtein at first, too. But if it's a playable character, who do I hope that it would be? Why, Leon, of course. But that's unlikely. Other than that, the only character that comes across my mind as playable would be Eleyna Farrence. I'd say that she has a decent role in the game, and she is even part of a secret ending, I believe. Most likely, Eleyna will be a symbologist. If, like Fayt said, both Faize and Arumat become in the party, that would give an equal balance of symbologists and fighters, assuming Arumat and Edge be counted as fighters, despite their use of symbols. Symbologists: Lymle, Faize, Sarah, Myuria, Eleyna Fighters: Edge, Reimi, Bacchus, Arumat, Meracle Also, Roddick was her descendant, and he was a main protagonist, so why can't she be playable? =P Edited by Fate, Nov 4 2009, 01:44 PM.

Oh yeah I forgot about Eleyna. If they do add an extra playable character then they're going to have modify the bedrooms in the Calnus a little bit to make room for them. They might have to build in an extra room or perhaps add an extra bed to one of the existing rooms. Maybe Edge & Reimi would be willing to share a bed for the duration of the journey...well maybe Edge wouldn't mind, but i'm not sure if Reimi would agree to that idea

Well, a LOT of people on GameFAQs have been clamoring for Crowe to be playable ever since his information was first released way back when, and were disappointed (sp?) when he wasn't. However, I see that they -could- make him playable without damaging the story....-if- they create a separate storyline for him (ala choosing between Claude and Rena in SO2, you could choose between Edge's or Crowe's storyline for SO4). Despite the fact that he, Welch, and Stephen were non-playables being listed with the playables in the XB360 site, I kinda doubt the other playable could be Welch or Stephen. They'd still list those two as NPCs among the others, especially since, as aforementioned, if Welch joined, who'd be IC manager? For the final character...Lias? Eleyna? Giotto? way I see it, the other playable character will probably have to be in (the proposed) Crowe's story and not Edge's, in order to keep storylines intact and all Spoiler: click to toggle yeah....stupid idea of mine....

Yeah, he'd ban every enemy in the game. xD It'd be so simple. But seriously, two weeks and not a single other character has been added to the list; the first four are still by themselves. Lazy. |

Fayt? Haha, I doubt that would happen, but I'd be spamming Dimension Door all over again if it was the case. And your right about the updates Fate, to date they have been very slow in adding the additional characters and details about the game too it. I want to know if my Lias theory is right already! |
