A date has been announced for an International version of Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope for PS 3. It will be available as a download to PS 3 in February 2010. There will be English/Japanese voice options. The game menus will likely be in Japanese. The announced price is an ouchie at about $90. But, prices go down quickly. Here is an article for you to check out: http://kotaku.com/5359514/star-ocean-4-sails-onto-ps3 Edited by Knight of The Round, Sep 16 2009, 06:28 AM.

Excellent news for PS3 owners that's for sure. There are tonnes of reports about it already, thanks for posting it here quickly! I just woke up and I'm reading about it everywhere, while I don't have a PS3 I'm happy about it. It's great for the series!

$90, really? That's a pretty large amount... Still, it is great news. There have been people without an XBOX 360 that have wanted The Last Hope, and now, they can finally get it! If there was ever another one (before even more advanced consoles get released ), they should release it on both platforms from the start, really.

Haha thanks Fayt, I'm glad you're happy about it being a 360 owner (^I do hope 360 will have future Valkyria Chronicles titles) I'll be getting this one, I was so sad it wasn't out for the PS3 at the time Not to mention the JP/EN dual voice option, just can't miss out The wait isn't that bad, considering other games coming out before it, so it should be right on target in terms of the budget $$$$$

That's good Roger, you can finally play it now! ![]() One thing PS3 owners will be happy about it already one of the descriptions regarding the game has changed. "Exhilarating combat expands upon the franchise's dynamic real-time battle system, now featuring amazing graphics through Blu-ray Disc" Could the graphics be even better for you guys? ![]() Also a new official site has just opened today for the international version > http://www.eternalsphere.com/so4/international/top.html Straight away I see new artworks again or Edge and Reimi! |

Debut trailer came out during Tokyo Game Show '09, although I can't see much difference other then the obvious addition of "International" to the title, can you guys notice much difference? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHp66ELpY5U&feature=player_embedded |

http://release.square-enix.com/na/2009/09/16.html w00t it's $60 now. But still, even if I did have a PS3, I wouldn't get this. It took me forever to get the rewards for the 360 version, I'm not spending another 7 or so months doing it all over again.

I don't have a PS3 yet, but am considering to get one soon. I would be tempted to get this version of Star Ocean as well if I could pick up a copy cheap. I got the Xbox version cheap brand new for £18 (about $30), which is pretty good when a lot of places still sell it here for £40 ($65). It would be so much easier having the game on one disc and not having to keep swapping discs back and forth. That really got on my nerves. it'd be good if they added some extra content too like some extra dungeons, story segments, which would definitely make it a worth while purchase (again). |

Here here, I found that quite frustrating towards the end. Particularly considering Roak is on disk 2 - where the Coliseum & Seven Star Dungeon is. Going back to ENII and the Calnus for inventing - both on disk 3 makes post game a chore. Also, welcome to SOU Edge.

Thanks for the welcome. But yeah the constant disc swapping did kind of put me off trying to do more of the side quests & orders. It was frustrating that when you had to make a lot of one particular item, such as intensified gunpowder x20, but could only make like 5 at a time. So you'd have to go to disc 2 to pick up more ingredients, then back to disc 3 to create, then more ingredients...etc A couple of additions to the game could have made life easier. Such as the ability to be able to carry more than 20 of one particular item. Or surely they could have added access to your ship from disc 2 as well with a direct teleport to the Calnus instead of Nox Obscurus. |
