Seriously, my flaming Xbox 360 just got red rings, I was like nooooooooooo!!!!!!!! :wtf:

BUT, thank god (I think) I researched the red rings further and learnt more about it for the first time. I never had the problem before so never researched the varying problems with red rings.

Thankfully for me it wasn't green light on the power source + red rings. I got a new bedroom set yesterday so I completely reorganised the room and I mustn't have had the power connected properly so I fixed it.

False alarm I guess, but god damn that was scary.

bite my shiny metal-
I've never actually seen what a red ring of death looks like before but damn, that is pretty ominous. XD Good thing it was a false alarm though, that would have had me straight in the fetal position.

I have had the RROD a once. And brother has had it 3 times, so yeah I'm familiar with it. I had to send mine back to Microsoft, but I got it back in about a week. But now that it is out of warranty I treat my 360 like it was a member of my family.

I think it's over-heating issues that cause it. I keep my 360 at least a foot away from any other electronic device and try to keep the room as cool as possible.
Haven't had a RROD yet ^^

Yeah, I believe over-heating is the most common cause for it, I've read that it's the way the circuits and everything are put together or something like that. The 360 itself isn't the greatest at self cooling. So no doubt trying to keep it in an open area and clean dust away from it can help.

I've only had one RROD...albeit a false alarm and it was scary enough, I hope not to see it ever again.

My issue was a bit different. I lost all video but still had audio. That is also another issue with some of the older 360s.
