Have you fought Gabriella, the superboss in the game, yet? Sure, she might be so hard at first, but surely you managed to get around to killing her by the end, right?

Oh, how did you manage to complete this feat? Did it take strategy, or did you just rush in and pummeled her with endless combos?

Share your amazingly epic fight stories with Gabriella here!

Yeah, endless combos. Roddick's Dragon Roar, Cyuss's Dragon Slash, Ilia's Tortoise Smash, and Mavelle's GALAXY!

I played the Devil's Aria, followed by a Celebration Hymn. In battle, I used a Might Potion, and then, guess what happened? I waited for her to attack, closed in on her, and unleashed a Redwyrm Thundersurge! One hit pushed her back to the edge, pummeling her with its power! She went from over 100,000 Hp to a little over 10,000 with a single hit. Another Redwyrm Thundersurge, and before it even pushed her back, she vanished...

She didn't seem all that super to me. But seriously, though, the first time I summoned her out of curiosity, she kicked my ass!

No, you use music to call upon enemies to fight. It just so happens she is summoned at Level 10 music. But, you need a character was Listening to preform The Devil's Aria correctly. It is advised you SERSIOULY level up before fighting her.

Gabriella can be summoned by performing Devil's Aria, a song using the Music talent, from one whose talent is at level 10. Although she comes early in the game, she won't go down that early.

You can summon her as soon as you obtain a Conductor's Baton. But, as soon as that trumpet tolls, oblivion awaits you outside the Camp Menu...

No, you have to spend 300,000 Gil on a Silver Trumpet first! Then, you have to compose with it until you get the Devil's Aria. THEN you can perform it with the Conductor's Baton to summon her.

You buy a Conductor's Baton in Eckdart, same as the Silver Trumpet. So yes, as soon as you get that... But still, it's almost impossible until like... level 60.

What, killing her or getting that much money? Conductor's Batons can be bought in several places, same with the Silver Trumpet. Actually, I think there are only two places for that.

No, I think that it was two towns. Eckdart was one. I can't remember the other. But I did a solo, so by the time i first visited Eckdart, I bought one for 300,000, since I had over 1,000,000 Fol in hand.

I trained using Gabriella near the end of my solo, by the way. I kept creating and replicating Treasure Cards, boosting the chance that I would get an Archangel's Bracelet from her. By the end, I had 7 Archangel's Bracelet that I kept (six of which were obsolete), and I had over 13,000,000 Fol.

She really is the best way to level up!=]

Yeah, unlike in Second Evolution where she takes a HALF-HOUR to kill!

Now that version of her was just unfair.

I heard that in the original Star Ocean, Gabriella wasn't even hard, and could be killed at even level 50. But I don't have the game.

They were dealing only about 600 damage on average. A few 2000s, but still. Guess we know why she's so hard now...

Because she was too was too easy in the first game. They wanted to include a superboss, so they upped her stats.

If you give your character a Ring of Lunacy and a Mallet Charm, they'll be invincible as long as she doesn't break the Ring of Lunacy. But I found that if you refrain form normal attacks and use skills, that happens less.

The Ring of Flexibility is also a must. Even her dash attack can stone people!
