Manuals; Keep or not?

Does anybody care about the game manuals of their RPGs or other games? Do you look for games that have them?

When I order a game online or something, I always have to get the ones with a manual, even if it's five or ten dollars more. I think that it makes the game complete, since I'm somewhat into collecting games.

I always look through a manual when I buy the game on the way home. Yeah, I READ THE MANUAL! And you all thought gamers didn't do that, anymore!

No, I do it, too. I like the pictures in them, really. It gives you a good idea about the game's plot and its character. Plus, you can get insight about the game, such as hints, how to play, and its basics. I find manuals very useful. But once I already know how to play, I still want the manual. It just doesn't feel complete without it.

And sometimes, there are pictures in the manuals! The KHRe:CoM manual had several pictures of artwork. I thought that was nice.

When buying second hand games in particular I'll always pay an additional $5 for a game with a manual if need be, I don't always read them mind you.

I don't read them a whole lot, either! :P I just keep them for the pictures and stuff. I'd rather buy a fifty dollar game with a manual than a forty dollar game without. That's a fact.

I read it. Heck, all the way to the Notes section at the back. I read about the gameplay elements, the characters, and very rarely, spoilers.

I only read them when I get bored and am not playing video games or on forums. They're actually quite interesting, and sometimes, the tips help, because different games have lots of unfamiliar stuff that you need to know. But more than not, I'll learn them in the game.

Then again, I usually buy the strategy guide to go with the game, so the manual is completely useless to me in that case...

I buy them, too, even at about twenty dollars. The manual is useless then, you're right, but not having it eels strange somehow.

Plus, I'd rather buy a new game than a used one, so I must have it!

Yeah, I can't stand to have a used game. Who knows what condition it's in? Forget that, I'll pay full price instead!

On a similar note, I'd pay an extra $10, $20 to get a game with collectors edition material - just like I did with the Last Hope. Despite the fact I might not even use the extra stuff, I'm a bloody hoarder...

I missed out on the initial copy of FFXII, and instead when I went to buy it later, I saw the Collector's Edition, so I got lucky!

No, I already bought a copy of it! I didn't want to get two copies of FFXII! Damn.

I;m still sad about my FFX and KH not having manuals, though! :P I think that later on, I'll buy an entirely new one with a manual all together.

I get sad when mine has a tiny little rip or scratch on it. I think the PSP and XBOX 360 don't have that secure cases. I always accidentally close it when the manual slips down, resulting in it closing on the manual! I liked the PS2 cases; they're really secure!

I get sad when, while goinjg through it, I accidently tear a page. When that happens, it's like all the joy in my life is sapped away...

I get so sad when that happens! I remember that my Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth's manual has a ripped corner! It's so sad! I wanted to cry!=[ Well, not literally, but I was crying on the inside!=P

I am obsessed with making sure they're treated with as much care as I can give it. I barely touch it, and I set it in as gently as possible!=P

I haven't touched a manual in MONTHS. I usually go online for every possible game mechanic, or RARELY when the game actually tells you everything, because most games today ASSUME you read up on how to play.
