I don't know about what others think, but I found disc 1 more enjoyable overall than disc 2. Don't get me wrong, I obviously love this game. But I seemed to get more into disc 1. That is when you first get to know the characters. More characters come along throughout the disc like nel, albel, maria and others and it is still more of a mystery of what happened to his father and sophia and what the future holds. In disc 2, everything starts to become clear and I know it has to but it was a little harder to get into than disc 1 even though it was still a good adventure. The mystery basically leaves and it becomes basically more of a mission to get to the final destination. Does anyone agree? or am I crazy

Easy wins have never been my style

I'd agree actually, disk 1 seemed to have more purpose about it, getting involved in the Elicoor II war was excellent, and the best part of the story imo. Disk 2 suffered by going way out of left field with the 4D storyline, but also by the optional (and Director's Cut added) character syndrome. On disk two characters like Nel, Roger, Albel, Peppita, Mirage & Adray aren't part of the core character group, so end up only having one liners here and there - that also took a bit out of the story I found. |

I agree, where characters like nel and roger had distinct purposes in disc one they then become tag a longs in disc 2. Their characters pretty much die out. However, I will say that gameplay is better at least in my opinion in disc 2. You do have more characters to choice from in battle, you have a large source of items and weapons to choose from, the map eventually opens up and you can travel around to different areas freely unlike a more linear storyline in the first disc and if you got into the invention system, then that becomes something else to get into. I would still argue that disc 1 is better though. |

Yeah, I definitely don't like the optional character mootness on Disc 2, the gameplay compensated for that. It's been a while so I can't really distinguish between what was on Disc 1 and what was on Disc 2. In conclusion: nothing to add
