Okay. I know it might be a little bit arrogant to call myself the Star Ocean Master, of course all of you are equally capable of being Masters of this series. I just figured after playing through every game including 1 Dejap, Second Story, Bluesphere Rom, Till the end of Time, Watching the anime Star Ocean Ex, First Departure, Second Evolution and now The Last Hope, I figured I would have a pretty darn good review including lots of references and good input. The story takes place before all of the games in the series, Yes even before Star Ocean 1. It's the SD 10 or something along those lines. The first SRF Space Reconnaissance Force into space. And there's even a hero you see in and out of the story. They call him Lightspeed Kenny. He's an old man, and I poke to wonder if he's of the same blood line of Ronixis (Ronyx) and Claude So far in my Space Exploration I've managed to make it to the Planet Roak. And I can see they have much respect for the music of Star Ocean 1. Since Motoi Sakuraba is the Chief music maker for most tri-ace games (I think only half of Radiata Stories) He made a great remix of the field music for Roak. It's the same beat, but awesomely remixed. And about the character Meracle. She might be related to Perisie or Pericci as you First Departure fans like to call her. Of course having that Ocarina in her possession might not justify that, but I definitely would consider it a huge coincidence unless all lesser fellpools loved those types of instruments. My travels to Earth in another dimension and time yet proved even more why they decided to implement the UP3 Underdeveloped Planet Preservation Pact. So things like that wouldn't happen anymore. Of course they proved time and time again in the series that some times breaking these rules could change the fate of a planet and save it rather than destroy it. And in my travels in the Cardianon Facility in space I managed to acquire a blade in a treasure chest that might be familiar to you all. It's called the Silvance. From Star Ocean 1. Also when I was on the planet Lemuris. I noticed the disease known as Bacculus is strangely similar to the disease caught by those on Roak at the time of Star Ocean 1. A biological weapon introduced from someone. Probably not the Lezonians this time or infact the Super Human Asmodeous since he probably didn't exist yet. They all turned into stone, except they go berserk when they are about to turn into full stone. You didn't see Dorn pull that crap And there are alot of similar monsters that come from Star Ocean 1 and 2. Like Peryton the bird that flies and throws feathers at you, sometimes turning you into stone. And Kobold. The Standing Wolf Guy that Punches rapidly and gets tired sometimes. And that Slime looking thing with the teeth that mutates. There probably are lots of other similar monsters I just haven't noticed them There are so many references chopped throughout this great game. Even Battle Skills that you could get in Star Ocean 3 like First Aid and No Guard. It's all there. Of course many of the Special Attacks or Killer Moves are Different. But a lot of the Symbology spells are the same. Of course hearing Faize say Earth Glaive is a lot better than hearing NOOOOOEELLLLLLL say it.EAARRRRRTHHHHHHH GLLAIIIIIIVEEEE... Still I really wish Edge would have like a Ripper Blast attack, I'm not sure if he does, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't. Still Edge is probably one of the coolest main characters you'll ever meet. I like him alot more than Fayt and Ratix (Roddick). Of course he still doesn't beat Claude but he's almost on par with Claude to me. And god I think it might be because he has blonde hair. But really, he acts cool, and he makes almost rational decisions at the time. And when he fails, he doesn't cry over it, He fucking screams over it. He has a lot of values and more personality I've seen in most Star Ocean characters. I really like all of the characters from this game. Except Lymle Kay? She just gets annoying after awhile, same old Lymle. Nothing new. But mostly I want and ending with Reimi, She's got the same voice actor as Tohru from Fruits Basket. Laura Bailey. Plus she's got more character and intelligence than Sophia ever did. I never did like Sophia. Anyway, Rena and Maria still top Reimi for cutest and most brillant main females, but Reimi is next in line, She even beats Milly. I saw a lot of private actions with her. Even the one where she was in the shower. And I"m not sure about that one on earth but she stood up in front of Edge naked without knowing. Anyway. After I get done with the game, I'll finish my review. Until then. Happy playing guys. Oh.. And here's a hint to any of you. Save all your Party SP for HP Boost on the character you fight with. Right now all of my characters have a usual HP of about 2500 only at level 28 or so. But Edge has 14000 Hp.. Yes 14000 HP. Nearly 6 times the usual amount because I maxed out HP Boost. And if you're having trouble getting Party SP. Just lure lots of enemies together in one place and get Ambushed a lot till you rack up huge Party SP Battle Boards. |

Easy wins have never been my style

Hmm, fascinating read mate. (Bloody jealous that I can't get my hands on it yet) It sounds like there is quite a few links to the First Departure story, and links to the Till the End of Time battle system. What I was hoping for...sweet! |
