Easy wins have never been my style
Funny how many of us love these games and don't have a single topic for them. :P

So yeah, this can be like a general KOEI discussion thread I guess, what's your fav game of them all, or fav branch?

Vote for 1 or 2 of them, and discuss!

Me, as you may (or may not know) I love the Kessen series, Kessen III in particular and for me it's the best KOEI game on the market. The story, FMV's, action/strategy clash if offers is simply outstanding. Offers a great view from Nobunaga during his rise to power rather then a typical and rather boring Demon King. Add that to tonnes of unlockables, extra difficulties (with carry over equipment!) and a catalogue completion there is always more to do when you finish as well.

Otherwise, I love the Samurai Warriors series more (probably obvious because I rarely make DW sigs etc. :P), I just like the fewer, but more unique characters it offers. I find the SW games generally have better gameplay aspects and improvements in them as well, even simple things like the clash gauge, shop, targets within missions etc. (Some are in DW6 now I know, but they copied SW alright? xD)

Hmm, I think i'm going to have to say good old Dynasty Warriors. I've been a huge fan of the entire series ever since my copy of Dynasty Warriors 2 came along with my PS2. I love how the series has evolved so much into the monster franchise that it is today, no matter how much KOEI may be milking it....ahem, cough cough....

Of course, I do also like many aspects included in SW more than DW. SW had less characters sure, but they were really given more insight into their whole backgrounds and histories, and I really liked the whole mission thing available in SW, just gave the game an extra sense of completion.

As for Kessen III, basically the same as what Fayt said. A bit harder than to my liking, but I managed.

First impression is always really important, and Dynasty Warriors introduced me to the world of KOEI.
I easily got into the guts of the game, having slight background knowledge about the actual history side of things.
I was really impressed about the way how it was made into a game, and having you control your favourite Dynasty character just hacking your way through the endless enemy lines.
DW gets my vote, but I have to give credit to Samurai Warriors also. While it lacks the roster number which DW has, each of the Samurai and respectives characters were amazingly designed.
Also, Sugoroku has always been one of the few, fun and enjoyable mini games which KOEI offers, but I only played that mode to unlock Okuni (from SW2).
As for the other titles, I have neither touched a ROTK or Kessin title, due to regional reasons. Pretty unfortunate really. =(

bite my shiny metal-

I could have sworn I already posted here...

Anyway, Dynasty Warriors wins by default being the only series I've played. Such an assorted array of characters to use, and a cool story of Chinese history. The gameplay is good too. Something about it is slightly addictive. Hack 'n' slash your way to a high K'O count while watching the map turn blue. The characters are really cool as well.
