Hello! I've decided to take liberty to expand the Star Ocean Second Evolution/Story Section on myself. This thread is where I will keep the forum goers updated with information about the section, including new uploads and features, added FAQ/Walkthroughs, and important information updates.

What's new?

For starters I have created some much needed sub-forums here.

**Character Specific Discussion - is where persons can chat about certain characters in the game. The characters will be separated by thread and archived for easy reference. This section is a WIP for now, but I will be expanding it soon.

**Guides/FAQ/Walkthroughs - is where you will find every inch of detail on every aspect of the games, from the spoken dialogues/scripts to CookBook and items lists. Members may also post here for asking questions when needing help with the game. This section is a WIP for now, but I will be expanding it soon.

**Downloads/Media - is the section where members can watch video of gameplay, browse art galleries, download and listen to voice clips, and more. I have already started filling this section with my collection so go have a look. Lots more to come.

*Added Japanese Boss Gameplay of each of the Ten Wise Men. This footage came from Star Ocean: Second Evolution. More videos to come.

* Added Ten Wise Men Gallery and filled it with Official Artworks of the Wise Men. This gallery will expand as I keep adding both official and fan images.

* Added Decus' Voice Clips to the Downloads/Media Section. Please tell me if these do not work, because I used bluehost.com to share. Members should be able to listen and download, though. If a link becomes broken, report it and I will gladly re-upload.

*Added a short bio for Claude C. Kenni in the Character Specific Discussion area.

As of the 31st of January I intend to retire from working as a Forum Administrator, and also from working on the Main Site.

I regret to do this considering we have recently gained some support from Decus who wishes to help this place grow, but my retirement has felt like it has been approaching for a while now, and I need to stop fooling myself to believe I have the time for such a project and move on with my increasingly busy life.

Star Ocean Universe started around October 07, which for me was actually remnants from work I done on a prior site for a great former online friend known as StarGGundam2. He loved Star Ocean as much as me, no, in fact even more then I did. He was incredibly passionate about the series and wanted there to be a quality Star Ocean fan site out there. I loved his enthusiasm and was more then happy to help. His area of expertise was Second Story, while mine was Till the End of Time. Probably obvious by the greater amount of information on the forum regarding it.

Sadly, we got so few members, and growth looked difficult, he also understood that his changing work position at the time was reducing his online activity, and as such, choose to delete the site. Unfortunately our online friendship slowly fell apart, also due to nonsensical events on another website.

Despite that, I still wanted to push for a Star Ocean community, and got inspired by a hugely successful fansite known as KOEI Warriors to give it one more try. And here we are. Even though it was perhaps doomed considering it failed previously when I had the assistance of one such as he.

In 2007 in particular I worked really hard in making avatars, writing heaps of information, reviews, updating prior information I had on a former Star Ocean site and got the ball rolling here. Help from both Roger and Quark helped push things along as well. Though, after a quick start I crashed into an absurd 20 page limit imposed by Freewebs, crippling plans I had for the site. And then around the time also managed to make it onto the staff team at KOEI Warriors, to become a Admin not long afterwards. Ever since I never really took this place as seriously, due to those reasons I just posted and my real life commitments increasing. This will increase even further this year with a marriage and my first child around the corner for 2009.

Just recently with Ao1 joined, and with a couple of weeks holidays I half heartily attempted to revive the place, updating parts of the forum/site and working on future updates. And well, I got excited by Decus and her enthusiasm; it reminded me of my old friend Star. But the reality is I'm kidding myself to think I'm able to do much there. My increased online time at the moment is only due to holidays, which will end abruptly starting next week, and even more next month when I resume part time study and have a marriage, then a child not long after that.

So, sorry but my time is up. The future of this place is out of my hands, if Decus wants to move on with her original idea of a new site that is up to her, or perhaps Quark wants to try keep this place plodding along, either way I hope some quality Star Ocean only community can grow in the future. With the Last Hope not too far away it’s the best chance for one to happen. Either way, I’d be happy to contribute some of the stuff I’ve put up here to another place if need be. That is if anyone would want it of course.

Thanks to everyone who did support this project at some stage, for a few moments there I felt like this place was really going to succeed, on others I even lost faith myself and dragged the chain. But I really need to move on with my life outside of the internet, so rather then just disappearing when I don't have time for here anyway, I guess I’m giving advance warning or something.

Eh, I’ve wrote enough now I think. If you want to ask something then go ahead. Sorry if I've let anyone down as a result of this, but I have to do this.

We would just like to wish everyone a great Christmas and holiday period up to the new year.

To celebrate the festive season we've replaced the banners for up until the new year. The main site banner now has a snow like affect. And the forum themes have a new banner as well. Both the Original and Ice Blue theme have a new banner with Santa hats, while the Frostee one is the same without the hats.
