I prefer the English ones for the menus, the effects look much better where I find the JP one is just bland. Why they have Star Ocean in such huge writing though is pointless, I think we know what game we are playing... The faces to represent the characters in battle though I'm 50/50 on it. The JP ones are drawn better, but attract my attention more which may become more of a distraction during battle.
