His mother's name was Florith, and fathers name Murdoch, all scientists. I don't remember them being Felpool though. Is there the possibility that with his "parents" being scientists, they made a test tube experiment with the Expelian Genome, and a Feline Genome, to make Leon a Felpool? Or were they Felpool, and I just never saw..
